    Pros

Knowledge sharing. At the highest level, there was a sharing of the technology each group was developing. On the company SharePoint site, you could request assistance from these groups to help resolve your issues.

    Cons

Producing a quality product was of no concern to executive management. Every 6-9 months, the company would layoff a certain percentage of the staff rather than seeing that moral was shot and the true expertise left to the competition.
Staff do the bare minimum since there is lack of incentives, no pay increases for 5 years, and always the fear of a layoff. If you go the extra mile, the atmosphere is frowned upon by the other staff.

    Advice to Management

Stop laying off staff just to get your bonuses. Think about the employees and if you commit to their well being, they will reciprocate the allegiance to the company.

    Pros

Almost any capable individual will be given an opportunity to be a leader and learn sophisticated management techniques.

    Cons

The pay is not commensurate with the expectations.

    Advice to Management

Be willing to bend the rules a bit for top performers. You don't pay them enough to rule over them with an iron fist.

    Pros

Two months paid training-classroom enviroment full with all walks of life-met some great people! Good Cafeteria food :)

    Cons

The two month long training classes were often boring and an absolute waiste of time! Outdated, useless training material made it nearly impossible to be successful once you were brought on the floor, taking calls. Also ridiculous pay standards; call resolution, dead air, etc. ensured low pay for frustrating work!

    Advice to Management

With such high turn over rate of employees, take consideration as to why. Such a frustration, having spent months training in classroom- for future job navigating computors' system while resolving calls-to realize no part in the training actually prepared you. Spend time and money for new hires training with computors opposed useless teachers.

I worked at Affiliated Computer Services part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This was an excellent place to get some entry-level experience in a professional work environment, as there were virtually no requirements on previous work experience.

    Cons

A very high level of expectations combined with very few available resources to help employees succeed resulted in a high turnover rate and general chaos.

    Advice to Management

Give employees more training (using professional trainers rather than recently-promoted staffers) and more supervisory resources, rather than using supervisors as task-masters to keep everyone on their toes.
