I have been working at Affiliated Computer Services full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

They will pay you on time no matter what. They will give you cash that day if they have to, you will get your money. Shifts are not rotating and you will get a chance to learn something. Think of ACS like a farm system for the rest of IT, this is where you take your bumps for real / better jobs out there.

    Cons

Low pay, no raises usually. Lack of chances to move up. Basically a who and not what you know culture / promotion system. Lack of culture in general. Bad morale. Taking on more work is criticized by management when the slightest thing is incorrect but perfect work is not thanked. No reward system, bonuses, or basically any incentive. Lack of any reasonable training. Not rewarded for working holidays. Essentially the... good you do is forgotten and then when you are asked to do something, you are simply expected to do it virtually always without any bonus of any kind.

I have been working at Affiliated Computer Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A very stable position if you get hired full-time Good pay, well above average

    Cons

Absolutely no raises Chaotic workplace Getting a promotion means same pay but more work Still get more work and same pay either way Feeling of being easily replaced

    Advice to Management

Need to see things through employees point of view more, need to speak with your superiors regarding employee needs and even wants. Change attitude to employees to stop making it feel as if they are easily replaceable.

I worked at Affiliated Computer Services full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I needed a job, they gave me a job.

    Cons

No raises, horribly unprofessional work environment, insufficient training for the work that is required.

    Advice to Management

Change the work environment, change the culture and perhaps the company can manage to employ people who are actually capable of doing the jobs they're hired for.

I worked at Affiliated Computer Services full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It's easy work, at least the assignments my division handled during my employment. Everything is pretty routine once you get the hang of it.

    Cons

Poor management, they give basically no instruction or direction beyond the initial training for each assignment. Plus, they're cheap, their were no raises. In fact their were pay cuts, two in just one year.

    Advice to Management

Regard your employees as valuable, not expendable.

I worked at Affiliated Computer Services full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Only pros were the people were nice, pay was better than min wage but the pay was a scale based off your quality which was controlled by the consumer.

    Cons

No raises, not possible with the pay scale. Not enough room to advance, Rep > Sup > Operations Manager > Asst Manager > Manager.

    Advice to Management

Consider having a better pay scale that doesn't seem to be nickle and diming your representatives. Work for your employees, not have them work for you and in turn to do nothing for them.

I worked at Affiliated Computer Services full-time

    Pros

Not one single pro could be applicable to this job.

    Cons

No recognition, no raises, no fair treatment, you cannot eat lunch in your car, bring your purse or phone inside,no books, no knitting, no candy, nothing! No paper, no pen. You sit for hours waiting. If someone reviews you badly, even if you pass to another dept, you lose all of your bonus for weeks. No sick time or you are hassled, and you must work OT or will lose your job. This is worse than a prison cell.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue. This is not a place of incarceration. Your turn over should tell you that your work place is not working. People do not even stay through training most of the time. A miserable and depressing workplace that pays only $10 an hour with no raises EVER.

    Advice to Management

Recognize and treat your employees fairly. They are your greatest asset.

I have been working at Affiliated Computer Services full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Individual groups are ok.

    Cons

    1. Getting hit with 3rd furlough. Latest one at 4th quarter. Current one 1st qtr and was only given 4 weeks to take with no notice. Haven't made my base salary the last three years. CFO also confirmed at announcement of current furlough there would be another one in the next quarter. That's 4 weeks of furloughs. 3 of which are in the last 6 months. 2. No raises 3. Salary cut. Was promised to be reinstated in 12... months. Took 18 months 4. Benefits presented at enrollment were not benefits that are being provided. Help desk confirmed benefits don't match what was offered. $50 copay for dr visit. 5. Xerox is parent company yet keeps ACS separate with worse benefits. Legacy Xerox doesn't have to go through salary cuts and furloughs. ACS CFO just last week said on a all to all his employees that he doesn't even like working here. Crazy. 6. CFO and CEO are worst I've ever seen. Even said she got her job through luck and sometimes having to do things that are beneath her. Those are her actual words. CFO was fired from former job at ADT and was there less than a year. Why did xerox hire her??? 7. Bonus program for 2013 was cancelled on November 22nd 2013. One month before year end. Even though we would have met bonus criteria. But they are putting in a new one for 2014 which at the end of February has still not been published. 8. Just announced another offshoring initiative. More than 25% of jobs are leaving. 9. Severance package is 2 weeks for every year. Min 2 weeks. However they deduct he amount you receive from unemployment and is discontinued as soon as you get hired somewhere else.

I have been working at Affiliated Computer Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good, friendly people; flexible hours

    Cons

The management does not value their people. Whenever it comes to cost cutting, people salaries are #1 line management is looking at. Here is what I've observed: - no raises (even merit increases) over the past six years - last year (2013) everyone had to take a week of furlough - bonuses were taken away from employees with an announcement in December, even though senior management got their own bonuses -... employees bonus structure changed for 2014 with many employees never receiving bonuses going forward, yet their base was increased by a margin of their bonus potential (hey, there was no merit increase over the past six years) - people jobs are in jeopardy, many jobs are moving to low cost countries - good people quit, poor performers stay. because senior management does not approve replacements easily, the middle management chooses to deal with poor performers in order just to have someone. That later translates to people doing bare minimum and sometimes working below expectations knowing that there will be zero consequences. Later this translates in customer unsatisfaction, non-payment for certain services, and less profit. Less profit = cut more labor cost, and we got domino effect. - low morale, nobody cares and everyone is busy looking for a job - departments are under-staffed - opportunities for growth are non-existent, which makes people even less motivated. Some people are asked to perform management tasks, yet their job title and pay does not change because we are busy cost cutting - constant reorganization of the groups

    Advice to Management

Take care of your people. Your people will make the company successful, but you need to show them you appreciate their work. Reward people, invest in your people, do everything to keep strong performers, and you will receive more in return.
