    Pros

Nice pay for work from home, benefits are decent for full time, Work from home, generate paid time off every pay period, and there is usually no issue when you need to use it.

    Cons

call center, unless you like that type of work, extremely production based company despite the little control you may have over your productivity, you must be aggressive, if you are not an aggressive individual, this job will suck.

I worked at Affiliated Computer Services full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Offer many work from home contracts, various types of work but mostly dealing with healthcare services. Most departments allow for fairly flexible work schedules but it's totally dependent on the department supervisor.

    Cons

Benefits and compensation are lower than average, especially compared to working directly for the companies they pick up contracts from. Anyone not in a management or corporate sales position is viewed as entirely expendable.

    Advice to Management

Improve employee benefits and relations. Management generally views the employee base as replaceable parts. I understand that ACS will likely never be able to provide benefits/wages on par with the companies they contract with, but there are other ways of showing employee appreciation.

    Pros

The employees were genuine and my immediate manager was great. We counted on one another for support and the work produced was above quality standards. The ability to work from home was a good perk.

    Cons

The main challenge was working for an organization that did not recognize their employees. The salary did not commensurate with experience nor were there any bonuses. Employee retention was almost impossible as people found employment elsewhere. You have to pay employees what they are worth.

    Advice to Management

Recruit managers that have experience with managing people. Employee retention is cheaper for all involved.

I worked at Affiliated Computer Services full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Work/Life balance, flexible schedule and work from home only

    Cons

No salary increases, paid on minimum range of market, just focus on Bottom line, management only caring about their bonuses, very unprofessional way from management to communicate with employees, a lot of wasted resources due to lack almost non existent HR presence and practices, HR is basically there to make sure the company does not get in any legal problems but could care less if the employees left as long as the... company can pay nothing for the time being served by the employee and there is no legal problem, basically you are another number or once exiting being treat like a dog, in order to get to career path or to other positions the buddy system is the only way to get there, you need to by pally to management or be cheap, but good things comes with a price tag and management simply look the other way.

    Advice to Management

Remove current management structure if XBS wants to be world-class company, all support personnel functions specially on site management needs to be look with magnifier and very likely removed, they are there because they either are cheap, they have been there for thousands years and they are next online or typically pally with upper management, look for the right people and the right profile and avoid look at... resources current titles and CVs as some of them are modified to suit needs and to be attractive to the system when there is no survey at what the people and society think about these "managers", they have the titles are because of the reasons above but if you look at their appearance outside the facilities they haven't contribute to anything and they simply cannot represent the brand nor sell our company, interview from top to bottom with professional recruiters as recruiters are also contaminated with the same old way to doing thing and biasing to pally buddy-buddy system.

I have been working at Affiliated Computer Services full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The good news is there is decent work/life balance. You can take time off if needed. Flex time. Work from home / remotely for many positions. Pay is good. Decent opportunities for advancement / transfers if you're willing to relocate (not every position is remote-able). A lot of good line employees who really care about the place and the customers.

    Cons

Senior management is completely clueless on how to run a business, and nor do they want to. Primary interest is on cost cutting in order to achieve quarterly numbers & bonus. Customer satisfaction is put dead last, as is employee satisfaction. Bonuses and manipulating the numbers for shareholders is priority #1. Many employees have not had raises in 5+ years. Benefits are mediocre at best (health insurance is high... deductible with no option to increase coverage at your own expense). Technology is obsolete with horrible tech support. Most systems are extremely slow or not working at all. Tons of senior management but less and less line employees every day. Half the staff have VP or director in their title. Layoffs, off shoring, and furloughs are continual. Low to non-existent employee morale. Completely disorganized management and departmental structures.

    Advice to Management

Cut 3-4 levels of management out. Get management who knows about the business. This isn't a product company anymore. Start rewarding employees.

I worked at Affiliated Computer Services full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Some people get to work from home. Co-workers are generally nice and willing to help. Pay is good but not great.

    Cons

Employee morale is horrible because of bad decisions and lack of direction from leadership. For the last 6 years I heard 'transformation' initiatives but nothing ever changed. VERY good and productive employees were laid off to cut costs with no true thought to consequences. This has caused employees to double and sometimes triple their workload. Furloughs were mandatory for last 4 years to try and meet... quarterly numbers. Bonuses and raises have been denied as a result of not meeting financial expectations. Many at Xerox understand what has to change to be successful but leadership doesn't take the necessary steps to make it happen. Some leaders have been promoted to incompetence and it drives talented workers away.

    Pros

Some of the managers from previous company before ACS bought are good, but they can not help their employees much since upper management level are worse!!! The only pros now is you can work from home.

    Cons

The company culture used to be very good, and employees were happy; however, after ACS was bought by Xerox and some other new senior managers were hired, the working environment was no longer a good place for employee to work. This happened because office politics. We had pay cut and no raise for 4 years. Only some employees who had a tied connections with stronger/higher management levels would be promoted to... get raises even if many employees who had an excellent performance would be ignored. Even for the employees with higher seniority and working for long time, their salaries are lower than a new hired employee!!! Currently, ACS, a Xerox Company, just want to be a middle guy that gets contract from US government and outsource back to other company. Xerox is out sourcing "employee resources" to an India company from which they can sponsor (H1B visa) and bring lots of new employees from India and China with lower salaries come to US office to work, gain knowledge from us and lay off current employees in ACS offices. Upper management levels and "stock holder" do not care for employees any more. So many talent employees were leaving the office. No fun to work in this environment any more!

    Advice to Management

Management level should know that they're better treat employees with fairness and taking care of employees. Do not base on the current economics down time of US and "stock holders" requests to push employees' work and life down to the drain. Employees with knowledge and great attitudes and work ethnics have been leaving ACS, a Xerox company.

    Pros

Work from home is allowed and encouraged for some areas. My paycheck never bounced. The benefit package is decent.

    Cons

Unprofessional staff/management. Staff was required to take time off several times without pay due to financial crises. No opportunity for advancement. 'Ole Boy/Girl' mentality.

    Advice to Management

Work on motivating all employees and provide new leaders training to ensure professionalism and effectiveness.
