    Pros

Amazing culture, a focus on helping people and putting them first, empowered to make your own decisions, awesome benefits, great work environment.

    Cons

As a member advisor you wear many hats within the company and it can be a struggle to get things done.

I worked at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Every employee of Affinity Plus has the same level of ability to help members of the credit union. I had access and was encouraged to do as much for any member as the CEO. We were encouraged and supported in empowering and supporting members through major life events in ways that I haven't seen any financial institution do. We had time to build real relationships with people, and I felt good and right about what I...

    Cons

The expectations and needs are definitely high for member advisors, because Affinity Plus has a lot of integrity and isn't all about teaching you what to do; the credit union is all about getting your unique skills to flourish and benefit your employees. It's the fastest growing credit union in the state and just keeps growing. So sometimes it can seem a little overwhelming...

I worked at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Excellent benefits- on the job training as in you learned on the job by yourself, their computer system makes doing consumer loans so easy anyone can to the paperwork with no training.

    Cons

Verbal abuse, little to no training, management that didn't know how to execute only how to push the cult-ure. You are a renewable resource and they will find another person to replace you. One of the managers gets off on making staff cry during your monthly reviews, this manager has been picking on staff for years and once you are on the bottom it is only a matter of time until you will be pushed out the door. Senior...

I worked at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union full-time for less than a year

    Pros

You get to do everything, including Mortgages from start to finish. They have very good products.

    Cons

You do EVERYTHING, with NO training. If you ask someone for help, you get told to "knowledge base it". That is a joke of a program that you are to look things up to know how to do your job. (they do not show you how to use that either). You are forced to help members with their mortgages with no training. You are the consultant, the processor, the underwriter, and the closer and for some the Title person. You...

    Advice to Management

Train your Member Advisors! The members think they are EXPERTS! They deserve experts, it is their money, cars, and homes that are in your hands! If your going to bad mouth WF all the time, maybe you should stop using them for things like: wiring money, or foreign currency. Kind of 2 faced if you ask me. Start treating your employees like you actually care, they are the ones who are helping the members. You say you...

"Low Pay, No Training, Incompetent Management, Zero Organization."

I worked at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union

    Pros

You don't have to pay for health benefits.

    Cons

The pay is extremely inadequate for having a Bachelor's degree. There is no room for growth since there are no "titles" beyond a "member advisor." Everyone throughout the whole organization is a "member advisor" so you will be doing car loans, mortgages, teller work, answering phone calls, loan underwriting, and financial counseling (just to name a few) for low pay (like 15 dollars an hour) and no room for growth. The...

    Advice to Management

The credit union does great things for its members. It truly does whats within the best interest of its members, but from a management, organizational, and structural standpoint, management is inept and needs to resign. The turnover rate is extremely high and they have no one else to blame but themselves.

I worked at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union full-time

    Pros

Allowed latitude to make decisions in the best interest of the members Start learning to do mortgages immediately

    Cons

Badly managed. The branch manager was recalled to corporate right after I was hired (supposedly because of our branch's high turnover rate and in poor management in general), but after 5 months without a manager and still no one to fill the spot, they sent the same manager back. Stressful. There is no limit to the work that can be put on your plate. You can learn to do mortgages in a few months, but they take TIME...

    Advice to Management

Everyone does everything is a nice though, but it is simply overwhelming at the high traffic branches (University, Roseville, etc). After 6 months when I left A+ (University), I had worked there longer than half the branch. Turnover issues must be addressed. MOE is a nice thought, but it is the E that takes care of the members!!!
