I have been working at Aflac full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Freedom to be your own boss, trips, bonuses, renewable income (instead of one time commission), career instead of just a job. FORTUNE 500 and a World's most Ethical Company. Great training (at least here in Wyoming) and a family mentality. Great family/work balance.

    Cons

No base pay, can be a slow start at first, you have to be very organized and self-driven, have to be licensed in life and health to sell insurance (but my management help with the process).

    Advice to Management

Don't loose focus on your clients, while trying to grow. Opening new accounts is wonderful, but not at the loss of your current customers. Balance is possible. Also, reward great customer service along with great sales.

I have been working at Aflac full-time

    Pros

As an associate you get the opportunity to earn exactly what you're worth. When I started I had ZERO experience with any kind of insurance but through the Aflac Corporate Training (Sales School), classroom training and my District Manager helped me every single day for years and made sure that I earned an income. You get the freedom and flexibility to take time off when you need to but also get to work as much as you want. You are always moving forward and your clients are amazing! I definitely recommend working here! If you are a go getter and want to succeed then you will get all of the help and support you need to be successful and the sky is the limit!

    Cons

If you are lazy or expecting to sit on Facebook all day and slack off like some other jobs you won't make any money. There were a lot of people that started with me that made all sorts of excuses, barely worked and when they did "go to work" they didn't do what was asked of them so they didn't make any money then blamed the company when they failed. If you want to slack off this is NOT for you!

    Advice to Management

Thank you for the opportunity and keep up the great work!!

I have been working at Aflac as a contractor (More than 10 years)

    Pros

An opportunity of a lifetime!! Success is a mindset. If you think you will fail, you will fail. If you think you will make it, you will make it. The most rewarding career anyone could ask for. After 24 years it is still the best decisions I have made in my life. I started broke, I worked hard, I made a great living for myself and my family. There were tough days, but that is with any place you work.

    Cons

There is always someone that wants to be negative. This goes with any career or job. Choose to soar with the Eagles!!

    Advice to Management

Keep offering the opportunities!! If you build it they will come.

I have been working at Aflac as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The opportunity of having a flexible schedule and high-income potential. The environment is very friendly and the company wants you to succeed. There is a lot of chances to win trips and awards but you must work well on your own and be disciplined in your work ethic.

    Cons

No stable income. A very hard beginning if you do not have some experience or any fallback money. You can go long stretches of time without an income if you do not have anything in your pipeline moving forward.

    Advice to Management

Have your team members have an easier start by helping them prospect more and work on warm leads. Choose to focus on a smaller team instead of constantly over recruiting and increasing the high turnover rate. Also by doing this the market will be less saturated with bad agents.

I have been working at Aflac full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I started working at Aflac a few months out of college in 2006. It is the only career I have ever known and I am thankful I came across an opportunity most people are either not aware of, overlook or are afraid of trying. I was an Agent for 6 years and have now been a District Sales Coordinator for 4 years. Aflac changed my life in a lot of positive ways but none more impactful than my perspective about success and failure.

My favorite pros about the job:
    Incredible Income & Renewals
Ability to control work / life balance
    Great friendships among team
    Bonuses & Trips
    Great relationships with clients
    Helping People

    Cons

Like any new business, it takes time to build.

    Advice to Management

    Don't change the compensation package!

I have been working at Aflac as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

If u r a good sales person and have an out going personality, this is a great opportunity.

    Cons

Its hard to get people to say yes even with the great products u r selling. Its all about u and what ur made of. The commission is good.

    Advice to Management

This is not a job for people that don't have income and is solely dependent on making a living working for u.
