    Pros

flexible hours, getting to meet new people everyday

    Cons

Not a steady paycheck, Not recommended for a family that needs 2 people to make a living

I have been working at Aflac full-time

    Pros

If you have the unlimited support of your family and friends and have a way to sustain your self through the hardship of a straight commission job for at least 2 years then this job is perfect.

    Cons

    Impossible standards
expect allot of out of pocket expenses
    no salary

    Advice to Management

Do not lie in the interview process and you will have a better employee retention rate. Perhaps consider at least a low paying salary to keep people afloat through the rough patch that is the first 2 years

I worked at Aflac as a contractor (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You can learn some great selling and negotiating skills in their classes and on the job if you have the right trainer. If you don't quit and can hang on for longer than average you will pick up accounts here and there by attrition. Eventually, if you're a solid performer you will be promoted and then you will train the new recruits how to sell and negotiate.

    Cons

Management believes in the motto "what have you done for me lately?" They are only attuned to who is hot right now. They prey on your connections to close accounts and they torch their market by adding so many new recruits every year. Management has a minimum of 90 new faces every year to hire. They know not everyone will work out and they don't care. It's a law of numbers game.
It's very difficult for females and non-whites to flourish. It's white male dominated management.

    Advice to Management

Find ways to reward the existing teammates for consistency in sales and for taking care of clients/accounts. Unless you're opening a new account and adding new business, management could care less. Change your thinking management! The customers are wising up and moving on from Aflac, as a result.

I worked at Aflac full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexibility, Income Potential, residual income, help you get licensed, learn business operation skills and you have a lot of write offs

    Cons

Commission only, lack of training/leadership, building own business so it can take awhile to build income, if you aren't disciplined this isn't the job for you

    Advice to Management

Install better training and recruiting so that the right people are selected and then train them properly. Get organized, people are depending on you!

I have been working at Aflac (More than a year)

    Pros

Great training and work environment. You are truly your own boss,

    Cons

After the first year you are on your own. Also, if you are not self sufficient after that year your screwed. YOUR accounts are NOT YOURS. Aflac owns them and management can pull and move them at their own accord.

    Advice to Management

Get it together. A bunch of lazy old men who love their override!
