I have been working at Aflac as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The opportunity of having a flexible schedule and high-income potential. The environment is very friendly and the company wants you to succeed. There is a lot of chances to win trips and awards but you must work well on your own and be disciplined in your work ethic.

    Cons

No stable income. A very hard beginning if you do not have some experience or any fallback money. You can go long stretches of time without an income if you do not have anything in your pipeline moving forward.

    Advice to Management

Have your team members have an easier start by helping them prospect more and work on warm leads. Choose to focus on a smaller team instead of constantly over recruiting and increasing the high turnover rate. Also by doing this the market will be less saturated with bad agents.

I worked at Aflac full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get to make your own hours. If you are comfortable talking with people this will be a quick job to learn and master.

    Cons

You have to make all your own leads. If you have not lived in the area you plan on working for many years, it will be tough to get a book of business going.

    Advice to Management

The management in Northern Colorado were extremely unprofessional. They frequently put down their employees and make it a very difficult place to work. I enjoyed the work I was doing in sales and customer service. Aflac as a whole is a wonderful company. If you are placed with poor management you will never thrive and they do not care if you do or not. Once they use you to get all your leads they will throw you to the way side.

I worked at Aflac as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to be pushed out of your comfort zone and go out to talk to people and improve you communicative skills. Commission only salary, so if you work really hard, there is no cap. From what I saw, 6 figures is pretty reachable. And you can manage your own time.

    Cons

Unless you have a really good supervisor, you are pretty much on your own. Everything is extremely money driven. Can be both a positive and negative side. But in the first 5 years, you are only doing salesman work. If you don't like being a salesman all the time, I don't recommend.

I worked at Aflac full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are none. You get to hear how much the management is making every monday and clap for hours

    Cons

This is a job that over promises and under pays. If you have the money to not make money for a couple years. No training, just get you hired to get accounts from your family and friends. Beware

    Advice to Management

Stop taking advantage of hard workers. And just using them for your gain

    Pros

The pros working for Aflac is the flexible schedule, support with sales, business building, given leads, and many more. Many different products offered.

    Cons

Not a lot of business owners knows what Aflac does. It a lot of cold calls in the beginning. But, some of those cold calls become accounts. Which is great. You must be a self-starter.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Keep telling new employees that it is their own business. Keep the training format for each class. Continue to have meeting with new sales associate. Make the mission of the company very clear for a person.
