I have been working at Afni full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Bonuses are great and you get a lot of employee discounts which are cool. I think one of the favorites is the discount at Panda Express

    Cons

Unprofessional staff, get written up for not being able to talk, not easy to change your schedule, when you ask for something it takes a lot longer than what it should

    Advice to Management

If a person can't talk because they lost their voice they should not be written up for it. There is nothing that person can do to fix it. Either let them go home without writing them up or let them floor walk. With a whiteboard and a marker they can still help other agents.

I have been working at Afni full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Afni does a fantastic job of teaching active listening techniques and how to deescalate irate people. I have learned how to build rapport with any stranger. Afni has good medical, dental and vision benefits and a positive coaching atmosphere. Every performance review is an opportunity to grow and improve as a person. I would recommend them highly to every high school grad. The skills you will learn at Afni will improve your performance in future jobs and in interpersonal relationships.

    Cons

The bonus is not based purely on your performance. Compensation is largely based on how well you manage customer's short term emotional states. Sometimes, you will loose your bonus for the month due to no fault of your own. You may continue to do exactly the same quality of work and bonus higher one month and lower the next.

    Advice to Management

Having coaches manually enter approved time off in addition the the electronic approval system is an extra unnecessary step that takes coaches time and attention away from things that can't be automated. It aggravates agents and lowers morale. I see no benefit to the business in having this extra step and plenty of harm to the business.

I worked at Afni full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The workplace was friendly and laid back. If you got your work done and met the goal then you were set for your typical work day. Everyone from the staff, to supervisor, to employees were nice.

    Cons

The closing shifts sucks. They closes at 12am. I hate that long late night drive back to Columbus from Opelika. This the only reason I don't have the job was the late hours shift. It caused me to have an accident. I was tired.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing .

I worked at Afni full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people you work with is the only reason i stayed as long as i did.

    Cons

They work you to death, they don't care about their employees. Their priorities change so much it is hard to keep up with what is expected. You get no work life balance. You are expected to work on your off days and work long hours everyday. You never hear positive feedback it is always about what you are doing wrong.

    Advice to Management

Stand behind your team members, you like to claim it is a great place to work but it is false.

    I worked at Afni full-time

    Pros

My coworkers and teammates were great. Benefits are pretty good.

    Cons

No opportunity for growth unless you are a male or in a certain Department. Too many unethical people and actions for any employee to feel valued or that their jobs were ever safe.

    Advice to Management

Lead by example and actually leave your office to interact with your employees not just your direct reports. Work in your culture.

I worked at Afni full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is good and relationships good

    Cons

    1. Very high metrics or bars to jump over. 2. Through the testing stage of three months, a person is tested on challenges with all the different types of people out there. These test have to be perfect. If not then pressure is put on the person to resign, by assessments at predetermined intervals. 3. The company expects employees to communicate effectively when they themselves do not practice it at hiring. 4. They have mandatory overtime (You don't have a choice).sj

    Advice to Management

Learn how to communicate effectively by showing an example of face-to-face personality test. Not a written computer test.

I worked at Afni full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Learn to toggle through multiple screens and programs quickly and efficiently while under pressure. Gain confidence on phone. Learn to negotiate. Supervisors available to take difficult calls. Allowed to end calls if verbal abuse is too much to handle.

    Cons

Sometimes may be confronted with very rude customers who subject agents to verbal abuse. Random surveys can put a little too much pressure on agents to succeed no matter what on every call. To pass surveys sometimes agents must put up with very rude, inconsiderate behavior.

    Advice to Management

Bonus opportunities are nice to have at this job. However, the expectations were a little too unreasonable. Often many agents were ready to bonus before the end of the month and one failed survey took away all of their bonus opportunities, which isn't very fair. Should not have to hit all five categories, there should be bonus opportunities for each category that are not contingent upon scoring well in all five areas.

Pay is good. Coworkers are awesome. You get free stuff sometimes.

    Cons

Management is all over the place. Some supervisors help, most don't.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Afni (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Technology is on the applicants side with available resources to assist everyone from the prospective employee to management

High turn over rates result in a revolving door policy which makes getting hired (& re-hired) child's play.
Perfect for a first time call center applicant.

Training is done in a classroom environment, allowing new-hires the opportunity to build bonds with their co-workers that in many instances outlast their employment and can lead to strong networking relationships with the slew of customer contact center companies operating in Tucson.

    Cons

Advancement opportunities abound, and the competitive landscape breeds large numbers of ambitious applicants, you must stand out if you intend to move up.

    Advice to Management
