I have been working at AgFirst full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Diverse staff, excellent training opportunities, family oriented, highly structured and sophisticated IT department.

    Cons

Honestly, no major drawbacks of working here from my perspective. My leaders are supportive of me, they engage regularly to get honest feedback. They address concerns as they arise. They are open to upward feedback. This may not apply to other areas, I can only speak for myself.

    Advice to Management

Continue to listen to your workforce. Continue to promote and train on the importance of diversity in the workplace.

I have been working at AgFirst full-time

    Pros

Since the day I started, I have been welcomed and treated like part of the family. I have been provided with all the resources I need and great opportunities for training and exposure. They have a flexible culture and understand that you might have things going on outside of work and will work with you to help out in any way they can.

    Cons

I wish we had the option for Friday Half Days during the summer but I really can't think of any other cons.

I worked at AgFirst full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The pay is ok.

    Cons

Training is done by people who do not know what their doing. Training material not organized and some of it is incorrect. If you can learn over 200+ systems without a lot of hands on from your trainers, this is the job for you. Just be prepared to communicate heavily via email or IM, which creates room for a lot of misunderstanding because sometimes text can be taken out of context. Poor training method. But don’t make any mistakes and don’t ask any questions DURING TRAINING, you won’t be good enough for them. Management does not interact with you either.

    Advice to Management

Make sure training is up to date, organized and easy enough to understand for someone new coming it to be able to find the information they need. Talk with the new employee and don’t go off of the word of people who do not like to mentor. Receiving feedback from the people you hire is important to. People cannot learn taking orders or information when its not done in person or their mentor barley interacts with them. Training is training. People should be allowed to ask questions and make mistakes when there is entirely to much grey area, especially when the training material is not up to par and the management knows it is.
