I have been working at Agfa Healthcare full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good atmosphere in the field. Good teamwork when you get to know people. Fringe benefits are nice. Some first line managers are great to work for, others are just along for the ride. Very military friendly.

    Cons

"Good ol' boy system" is definitely in place here. Most of it is in senior management. There has not been a raise in 5 years. Constant pressure on field service to sell product. Sales is either incompetent or lazy. Executive management has lost focus on the employees that are the bread and butter for the company. Not a lot of room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. You are losing good employees because first line management finds that it is extremely difficult to get rid of bad\non-productive employees. There needs to be an overhaul in senior management including VP's and other executive management. They have been around forever and there are no fresh ideas. It is always business as usual on how to cut costs. They have forgotten what it is like to be on the front line and their decisions make it harder on the employees that are working the hardest. This creates an environment with very low moral.

I have been working at Agfa Healthcare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Independence. Great opportunity to advance. If you are a hard worker, you can easily make a name for yourself and open up doors.

    Cons

Reorganization every couple years. Poorly managed. Virtually no raises, unless you stand out above the rest. Bleak outlook. Salaried employees are overworked and underpaid.

    Advice to Management

Let the US run it's own organization. Price the products more competitively to get us in the door. Then earn the customers trust.

I have been working at Agfa Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The total compensation is pretty good (see cons). The benefits package is pretty good. Most of the people are great to deal with and the company does have a knack for hiring some very talented people. Remote work is allowed but limited. There is some limited promotion opportunities. The company has a decent software portfolio. Rewarding industry to work in!

    Cons

Frequent layoffs and restructures. In one year alone I had 4 separate bosses. They do not do regular annual cost of living adjustments (only 2 out of the 7 years I've been with them). There is limited promotional paths; most job changes are treated as lateral moves with HR unwilling to provide a decent increase in pay. The company is not against remote workers but is now limiting it and is only hiring certain positions out of an office. The company is very number oriented. Line managers are forcing numbers over quality to appease upper management. Slow bug fixes and many times we tell our customers to buy new version of software for the fix they seek!

    Advice to Management

Stop the frequent layoffs and restructuring. We haven't had a new sale install in a long time. Are we even trying to get new sales/clients?
