I worked at Agilent Technologies as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

None to speak of at all

    Cons

    Far too many to list

    Advice to Management

Reign in the out of control millenials -and 40 somethings- who are ruining this once great company. Contrary to their beliefs, they are NOT the center of the universe and they do not have the right to berate, belittle, talk down to, insult, question, doubt, or second guess an individual simply because said individual is a contractor. Far too many noses in the air here. Far too many people wont give you the time of day simply because you are a contractor. The old song and dance is "we are a team, we are all important, rah rah go team go!" when in fact it is nothing like that at all. Agilent parties, picnics, luncheons, celebrations, etc are for Agilent employees ONLY and we are constantly reminded that contractors are NOT WELCOME. Little do they know that if all contractors failed to show up for ONE DAY, the entire plant would shut down. Put that in your pipe and smoke it !! I am so glad that I am out of there. I will never even come close to an Agilent site again. What a god-forsaken wasteland.

I worked at Agilent Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Location of the Barcelona offices meaning that there are excellent views of the city. Short term position meaning you don't have to put up with the flaws for too long.

    Cons

Do not follow labour law. Poor atmosphere at work caused by manager. Deceitful practices. Lack of accountability for managers, especially those in charge of Europe HR. Only opportunities to get ahead if you are french. High staff turnover.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like people. Deal with bad managers that cause a bad image of the company by lying to try and get around labour law despite ample evidence showing dishonesty on the managers part. Proper consequences for managers that lie to their team and destroy team morale. Get rid of the revolving door policy.

I have been working at Agilent Technologies full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The Hewlett Packard philosophy of work/life balance, being employee-centric and testing in quality at every Process step no longer applies.

    Cons

Through constant splits of the company into smaller entities, this company has lost it's focus and drive and abandoned it's core principles. It is not the technology company it once was. It is not the employee-centric company of the last half century. Upper management has cut back salaries, benefits and opportunities. Sacrificed quality and employee satisfaction to drive lesser products to market that no longer have the highest industry standards of quality and excellence. The employees are overworked and under compensated. Management does not reward the best and brightest, but those who smile and don't complain.

    Advice to Management

Revise your strategy of upper management privilege and benefits at expense of quality products and rewarding your core teams. Otherwise the very large switch of customers to better priced, higher quality instruments will make you an also ran.

I worked at Agilent Technologies full-time

    Pros

Strong technology and good people in the surrounding departments and some within the Enterprise department.

    Cons

Lacks meaningful Leadership, direction, and communication within the Enterprise department. Lacks knowledge and experience to build and lead a strong team.

    Advice to Management

Address the issue-despite the data, repeated poor outcomes, there is no change. Why is that?

I worked at Agilent Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1) Good Pay Master
    2) Work Life Balance
    3) Good Campus
    4) Updated technology

    Cons

Really Poor management at Manesar, India. Very egoistic people to work with. Treat others very badly.

The most inactive HR I have seen so far. HR don't bother how the employee is being treated after getting into the role.

Management can anytime decide to change your profile, your career line without discussing or even informing just because they think it's not important and in any case, if you have discussed your points with management then be prepared to leave the organisation.

No forecasting ability in management - Hired excessive talent at project time and then ask them to leave for showing cost efficiency after project completion.

    Advice to Management

Shuffle the upper most position in India, this will help in retaining talent and higher employee satisfaction.

I have been working at Agilent Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good products. Strong executive team that means well and says the right things about fixing what's wrong

    Cons

The execs' words don't filter down. Too many people in senior mgmt have been with the company way too long. No ideas, no vision, no appetite for change. Also, too many long-term employees have been there too long; they've become so complacent that the only time they work hard is when they're fighting to preserve their status quo. There's a reason there's a ton of employees who've been there for 15+ years, a handful who've been there for 2 or less years, and nothing in between.

    Advice to Management

Hold your top managers accountable. Stop assuming the dinosaurs are giving you 100%. Clear the deadweight and stop stifling the new blood that can actually bring about the positive change you're asking for
