    Pros

Flexible work schedule, open door policy

    Cons

No oversight on 1st level management which can and does create an environment of favoritism. Tend to buy companies rather than develop from within. Manager from acquired companies get management positions without understanding company policies

    Advice to Management

Be more aware of how your supervisors treat employees

I worked at Agilent Technologies as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work life balance. People play volleyball and soccer at lunch. Very laid back work environment. Did not have much to do all summer besides answer phones and pass the calls along to the trained engineers. Despite how boring it was, they paid me like an engineering intern. $16.90 an hour for my first summer and $20.19 for my second summer working there.

    Cons

Seems like Agilent is slow to adopt to new technologies. They are resting on their laurels of gas chromatograph technology and it does not seem like the place where I want to be full time.

    Advice to Management

You need to be more down to invest in innovation instead of just relaxing because things seem good right now. Besides that, keep being cool and hands off.

I worked at Agilent Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of vacation time and ability to make your own schedule. The people are amazing and always willing to help. Open door policy. Great benefits (new car every year) and salary increase on annual basis with good performance. District managers and regional managers are great. Overall very positive experience! I would definitely recommend over competitors based on office culture.

    Cons

Long Hours/Travel. Difficult to move outside of a field/travel based position.

I have been working at Agilent Technologies full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company successful in what it makes. Flex hours, on site fitness center, tennis courts, volleyball courts, fitness track are all pluses.

    Cons

Decreasing benefits. Poor medical insurance. Stagnant wages. Profit sharing virtually eliminated. Every year the benefits seem to get worse. Training of employees almost non-existent. Too many managers and not enough people actually doing the work.

    Advice to Management

Consider increasing the salary scale for long term employees. Consider promoting senior professionals to senior level positions with different wage scales. Improve training. Eliminate the unfair and annoying practice of different profit sharing for different people.
