I have been working at Ahresty Wilmington full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Great shift schedules. Fast paced environment with lots of room to grow and learn within the company.

    Cons

Dirty environment. Way too much overtime. Micromanagement. The company has expanded way to fast and all logistical aspects of the company have thus become deficient.

    Advice to Management

Continuing to do the same things year after year has proven to be ineffective. Expansion must also come with progressive change and future planning. Tough choices and accountability need to be addressed.

    Pros

Keeps you busy if you are in the area, good insurance.

    Cons

Long overtime hours require, poor working condition, and little improvement to equipment as it gets old and breaks.

    Advice to Management

Get effective equipment and keep it clean, look for areas to improve and don't be afraid to spend some money on continuous improvements.

I worked at Ahresty Wilmington (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pros are that it is very steady work, 8 hours a day and 6 days a week (monday through Saturday usually). So that is OK if you need the money because you get paid for overtime. They also give you medical, dental and vision for a very low cost if you are a full time hire not through a recruiting agency. They also give you clothes to wear (pants and shirts) so you don't get your own clothes dirty, and they will even wash them for you if you choose. Most of the people who work there are pretty nice and kind, good people who are just really hard workers.

    Cons

You pretty much have to work 6 days a week even if you don't want to. I never wrote my name down once on the weekend work schedule and yet had to work 98% of all saturdays. If you have a family this can be pretty hardcore since you won't have much time with them, especially if you have a commute to work. Sticking your hands, arms, shoulders and head in machines all day is very dangerous to say the least. Standing up and working hard all day and also walking back and forth a lot and lifting things will get you in good shape but gets very taxing on your body day after day. You usually feel very burnt out and have a low morale because you are only getting one day a week off. Depending where and who you work with, you might be getting yelled at and harassed a lot, which can make things unbearable and miserable. Some people will be really nice to you one second and then get mad and be ugly to you right after they were very nice to you. It's kind of like some weird circus.

    Advice to Management

You should not work people on the weekends unless they sign up to work on the weekend, this will keep morale at a higher level.

    Pros

It is a good work environment with helpful co-worker's. Good experience and the compensation is very good. I look to be trained and grow with the company.

    Cons

Will have skill's that I didn't previously have. The chance of getting hired on is likely. Hopefully will be a good experience with many promotion's.

    Advice to Management

The management team is very helpful with daily question's. Would love to be given the opportunity for advancement in the company and some day be considered for team leader.

    Pros

The people I worked with were great, there was always overtime there, and they gave incentives every quarter if you met the quota. You get off for two weeks out of the year for shutdown which was nice.

    Cons

You always had to work almost every other weekend and if you needed the weekend off no one would cover for you and management didn't care. It was your responsibility to find coverage no matter cost. Management was always hard on you expecting you to do everything while they set in there air conditioned office and you sweat your ass off for nothing.
