I worked at Aimco Apartment Homes full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

You will get training for the job by helpful coworkers. If your with a great a team you will thrive at your site.

    Cons

Please stop hiring unethical and lazy workers. Your losing all your good, even great employees. Listen to your staff, make managers more accountable for their actions.

    Advice to Management

Do better at hiring. I was an employee for 8 years. I seen at least 5 regional managers and at least 6 different community managers while I was with Aimco. With every different manager it seemed that the quality of work, quality of customer service was dropped. The residents are no longer important but the bottom line is. If you are in affordable this is not the company for you. If you are looking for advancement were...

I worked at Aimco Apartment Homes full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get a 20% discount in housing. But the only properties one can afford to live in at their low pay are not worth living in.

    Cons

They micro-manage like crazy. Company only cares about making money for shareholders and does not care about its staff or residents. Management is constantly changing, even at the highest level; there's no sense of job security. The pay is too low for the amount of stress associated with the job. You are expected to be available 7-days a week and they barely meet the "full-time" status at the minimum of 35 hours. You...

    Advice to Management

Change your management style and organizational culture! The moral of your employees is at a low because you are only concerned in being a cash money making machine at the expense of delivering the bare minimum to your residents and not re-investing in your properties. I would NEVER recommend anyone to work here unless they are absolutely desperate and ready for serious stress and high blood pressure issues.
