    Pros

Great people. I loved my career at Air Liquide.

    Cons

Upper management has lost touch with the average worker over the last several years.

    Advice to Management

Engage your employees more, and provide training to prevent complacency.

I worked at Air Liquide full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The personal and professional culture in the plants is great. People are still real people there. Whereas the corporate culture is filled with tension and palpable at times when you go in there for training.

    Cons

The safety culture is preached but not believed in. They preach it and teach it because it helps with health and general liability insurance premiums but generally, people don't care.

    Advice to Management

Typical cut throat corporate culture doesn't work well with REAL people that work in the field and the labs. Try asking them what it takes to change the culture.

    Advice to Management

Support employees more in professional growth

I have been working at Air Liquide full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Plenty of overtime. Never get held accountable for wrong doing. Somewhat ok benefits. Good schedule when fully staffed. Some coworkers are great to work with.

    Cons

No one is held accountable..Buyout of airgas is ruining moral....Advancement to next level takes forever...not in hurry to train new people or cross train...more reactive than proactive/preventive place to work. Overkill on safety....salary lower than national average...seems like the ones that stay under radar and don't try to improve are the ones that get rewarded vs the ones that do care get punished.

    Advice to Management

Grow some balls and start holding people accountable. Weed out the bad seeds and bring in fresh talent and pay more competitive.

I have been working at Air Liquide full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Air Liquide offers opportunities in a variety of fields all over the globe. I personally love getting to travel and work in the different business entities of the company.

    Cons

The recent acquisition of AirGas has caused some uncertainty within some departments. This only majorly effects Industrial Merchant, Healthcare, and some parts of Electronics however.

I worked at Air Liquide as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

With three years of engineering education, Air Liquide’s internship program was the perfect opportunity to apply what I learned in class and to learn how engineering works in “real-life.” Air Liquide did not hesitate to teach me and the other interns about their many companies and really immersed us in their friendly, yet productive culture. Plant trips were organized for hands-on learning throughout the ten weeks, even including a day-long seminar. The highlight of Air Liquide for me was the company culture. As an intern, I was encouraged to speak up during meetings and voice my thoughts and questions, which is something that previous internships did not allow.

    Cons

As an intern, I craved a little more responsibility in my daily tasks. While I had a few longer-term projects, there was still lots of idle time throughout my workdays. Additionally, communication from HR prior to starting the internship was quite late. There was very little time to arrange housing and travel plans between being informed of your assignment and actual start date.

    Advice to Management

My only advice to management is to prepare for the arrival of eager interns a little more. An internship program with lots of participants is definitely desirable, but assuring a quality workload for each intern should also be a priority.
