    Pros

Air Liquide is a great company to have on your resume, and the ALLEX program offers great experience.

    Cons

[Yes, I reported these in my exit interview.] I had a manger ask me to falsify safety documents to make it look as though he had done his job in the year following a safety related fatality in the same group. Peers had their review grades changed by program managers because they'd already been selected for international rotations, and program managers needed to make it look like they hadn't made a poor choice. I was paid 6,300 less than program peers with nearly identical coursework, and I was told things would be 'equalized' after the program. I was told my raise would be on the higher end of 9-14% after leaving the program, then given 9%, and told I should have negotiated my initial offer. Worst of all, in my first rotation a coworker harassed me with religious advice and comments. When I reported it to our manager, he told me he shared her beliefs. That manager was friends with the program director - imagine how that worked out for me?

About two years later, the program randomly selected 3 participants for a later start date after receiving no volunteers. Their start date was pushed back by 6 months because of Air Liquide problems.

Retention numbers are low, international rotation opportunities don't abound as advertised, and you'll be let go if you don't find a full-time position after the program. Stagnation is everywhere.

    Advice to Management

Pay people equally, don't allow RAMPANT religious discrimination and penalize me for being involved even though there were other claims against the individual, give the raises you promised, and listen to me when I report a safety concern.

Don't ask me to cancel my vacation, even though I have a plane ticket to visit my family, because you forgot to assign something to me that was assigned to you five years ago. Don't arbitrarily accrue for future business interruption insurance claim payout because your OI was negative.

    Pros

The company being so lean, gives one the capability of doing and learning many different roles. This really helps develop careers, but only if you have a defined goal for yourself.

    Cons

The company is very lean so a lot of personnel are worked quite a bit. Cutting costs is typically more important than reliability.

I worked at Air Liquide full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are some really intelligent engineers and great people to work with/around.

    Cons

Anyone in middle to upper management is more concerned with managing their career than doing their actual job. Upper management will do just about anything to make their numbers and gain their bonuses. Entry level salaried employees are pretty much abused in regards to extra hours required to complete projects, phone calls that you're expected to answer when on vacation, etc.

    Advice to Management

Start being decent human beings. To the few good managers, stop enabling the bad ones.
