I worked at Air Liquide (USA) full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are some really intelligent engineers and great people to work with/around.

    Cons

Anyone in middle to upper management is more concerned with managing their career than doing their actual job. Upper management will do just about anything to make their numbers and gain their bonuses. Entry level salaried employees are pretty much abused in regards to extra hours required to complete projects, phone calls that you're expected to answer when on vacation, etc.

    Advice to Management

Start being decent human beings. To the few good managers, stop enabling the bad ones.

    Pros

Nice people, good team environment working in operations. Meetings were minimal and short. Didn't really feel a sense of politics.

    Cons

Can get hectic in operations, but that's what you're signing up for - some things will go wrong out of your control, but you just need to have thick skin, take responsibility, and move on. Account Executives tend to be bossy and try to call the shots for you sometimes.

I have been working at Air Liquide (USA) full-time

    Pros

I've been with the company for nearly 2 years and have been very impressed with the way the management and the company in general tries to treat everyone like an individual and take their personal needs and circumstances into account. Senior management is very approachable and responsive to inquiries from all levels and this approachability continues down to the local management level as well. Issues are always responded to timely and suggestions for improvement are always welcomed and reviewed for feasibility regardless of whether or not they are acted upon.

    Cons

Given the layers of complexity to the business and the need for many divisions, departments, and specialists it is easy to create silos based on expertise. It can become easy to get isolated in a silo and feel disconnected from the corporate entity and lose sight of the big picture. However, there are multiple resources both in terms of personnel and shared online information to minimize this.

    Advice to Management

Just continue to remember that the employees are the company's biggest asset and treat them accordingly.
