I worked at Air Products as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Air Products is really good with helping you figure out where you fit best in the company. Moving around the company is encouraged and this is one of the only places where engineers dont just have to work an engineering job to make the company better. Air Products has a really helpful CDP program (Career Development Program) where you go through a three year process when you get hired to determine where you fit best. You switch locations and positions every year for three years and then at the end you can choose where you want to start off officially in the company. All the people I met there were extremely nice and pleasant to work with! Pay is very good and I really enjoyed this company overall! They give their interns meaningful projects and want you to contribute and innovate new ideas for the company! They treat you like a full time employee which I found to be very nice.

    Cons

Recently got a new CEO and cuts are being made to reorganize the company. Stability in the job isn't as good as it is made out to be, at least for the next year or so until everything is figured out. Location of Air Products HQ in Allentown, PA is not the best, kind of boring and not much to do.

    Advice to Management

Figure out organization of the company and maybe don't release people who have worked hard for many years at AP to the standing you took away from them.

    Pros

    The pay is pretty good

    Cons

    outdated facilities
    doesn't care about employee
outsource work to China and India over engineering at home headquarters
no form of team building or developing of career
more about who you know that what you know for promotion which leads to over budget in time and money on projects

I worked at Air Products as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

The company is collegial and supportive. The CDP internship is a great way to get a feel for the full-time CDP program. Currently, the CDP program is focused on finance and it allows those in the program to work in business support, treasury, and roles supporting controllers. Work includes cash flow analysis, operational analysis, and treasury functions.

    Cons

The company is lean and so you wear multiple hats. This is common in most companies though.

    Pros

    Interesting work, variety of opportunities

    Cons

When I was hired, they just hired a new CEO who broke off and sold bits of the company. I was downsized in the aftermath! Last one in, first one out!

I worked at Air Products (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Offices were comfortable, some of the people were nice.

    Cons

Managers expected one person to support 35 people - a prescription for failure. They also took everyone 8-1/2 years vested and laid them off to make sure they could not get the money that was theirs. It was in the Morning Call. Shame on you , Air Products

    Advice to Management

Get in some Senior Management who have consciences and are compassionate.
