I worked at Air Products full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The Joliet hydrogen plant is very clean runs smoothly most of the time. Great company benefits and 401K. If you like to travel and be away from your family there are many opportunities working for Air Products. I have had good experiences with employees at other locations.

    Cons

Some people at this facility cannot be trusted and as a whole they are definitely a tight knit group. When a new employee is hired on at the Joliet site (Mainly two individuals) they cannot hide their opposition. Management doesn’t seem to tell the truth and they will tell one group one thing and tell another individual something else. Honesty is the best policy.

    Advice to Management

Tell the truth and be consistent with what you tell people. Be truthful on your expectations of an individual before hiring them on. Get control of your employees (Way too much ownership) at the Joliet Hydrogen Facility and provide better training to a certain individual who after 11+ is not up to par to operate such a facility. Unfortunately I can’t mention names…

I worked at Air Products full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Its was an good job with strange upper management in many different states, made it hard to understand company culture.

    Cons

Not sure I would have taken the position if I knew they were going to close our DC down a year later. It was pretty poorly communicated.

    Advice to Management

    Get into the now.
