I worked at Air Wisconsin Airlines part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flight benefits, even though they didn't always provide the greatest discount. Working a variety of positions from the check-in counter, boarding/loading, pushback and arrivals. Driving the tug around the airport was fun.

    Cons

Blue juice... Cleaning dirty planes. At less than 10.00 a hour its hard to make a living.

I worked at Air Wisconsin Airlines full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Unlimited over time, holiday pay, shift trade, flying benefits for national and international flights for US Airways.

      Cons

Make you work in all kinds of weather; rain, snow, high winds, hot summer weather. They will give you mandatory over time if they are short on people. Which means if you worked your 8 hour shift and your suppose to be clocking out at 11pm but they have late flight they will "Mando" you. Which means you have to stay or they will write you up and possibly get fired. There supervisors are a joke! They are lazy and just drive...

      Advice to Management

Management has to do a better job with hiring supervisors. I've seen them hire supervisors who've worked there for a month and still aren't familiar with the job itself. Its really all based off favoritism. If your friends with management you can get away with anything.

I worked at Air Wisconsin Airlines part-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

When you first start working there, it's exciting. You get to work with great co workers, and amazing breaks. It's not like any ordinary job.

      Cons

So much work but low pay. Management can sometimes be cold heated, no respect for their employees. Mandatory overtime, if you don't do mando, you could lose your job.

      Advice to Management

Start being fair with your employees. Many reason why people leave.

I worked at Air Wisconsin Airlines part-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Coworkers were very knowledgeable and fun to work with. Usually a pretty decent amount of down time when schedules are running on time and there's enough coverage for shifts. The job made me figure out where I wanted to go with my career, and the flight benefits were nice.

      Cons

The required union, the limited hours, confusing pay scales, and pay cuts will not allow you to make a living off of this job. Getting a full time position is near impossible if you're starting out as a station agent. Even with attempts to go into different fields of operations, such as Crew Scheduling or Dispatch, the corporate offices do not want to hire within, no matter how long they've worked for the company or how...

      Advice to Management

I don't believe there's any fixing this company. If you want to make some last ditch attempts, hire firm but compassionate Regional Managers, because currently they're doing more harm than good. Build your reputation for hiring within the company.

I worked at Air Wisconsin Airlines part-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

I liked the customer service and the working with equipment around the aircraft. Some of the employees were fun and worked as a crew which made it an enjoyment. You get to fly for cheap.

      Cons

Salary and union dues will not allow you to get ahead. Short hours and driving back and forth doesn't pay. The hours are based around flights only and you have little choice since senior agents pick first. Some senior agents let it go to their head and are difficult to work with, to say the least. Much training is done out of town requiring overnight travel, but it isn't very useful. They need educators to develop better...

      Advice to Management

Discipline arrogant, pretty, childish senior agents. You will keep good employees longer. Allow schedules that put your twenty weekly hours into three days, to allow use of the flight benefits. Encourage using the flight benefits to keep employees long-term. In a year and a half I watched over a dozen people leave. We only employed one full and a dozen part-time. Turnover is due in part to poor management and senior agents...

I worked at Air Wisconsin Airlines part-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

For someone wanting to get their foot in the door with an airline this is perfect but not somewhere to consider a long term career.

      Cons

They do not support management. Once a manager takes a job with Air Wisconsin they are on their own. In my few years working for Air Wisconsin my station went through 5 managers.

      Advice to Management

Spend more time complimenting employees for the good they do. There are a lot of good employees working got the company but are always looking for other jobs because they don't feel appreciated.

I have been working at Air Wisconsin Airlines part-time for more than a year

      Pros

Had TV to watch while waiting for flight or passengers. Supplyed PPE. Good training.

      Cons

Low pay scale with too many jobs to learn- such as Ramp, Gate, and Ticket counter for just 9 hour.

I have been working at Air Wisconsin Airlines part-time for more than 20 years

      Pros

CoWorkers are great! The job can be fun.

      Cons

The pay is insulting, micromanaged, your best is never good enough. Agents have been with the company for 25+ years are are now working part-time maybe 20 hours a week. Regional mangers would sell their children if it made them look profitable.

      Advice to Management

You get what you give. This has become such a demoralizing company, what a shame.
