I have been working at Air Wisconsin Airlines full-time

    Pros

It's small enough that it truly feels like a family environment, but big enough to take care of the company and it's people.

    Cons

The fact that it's contract work, and could be gone from Columbia, SC in 5 years, like Norfolk, VA

    Advice to Management

Continue doing what you're doing in regards to visiting your maintenance bases, while rewarding and encouraging high performance.

We’re glad that you’ve noticed that we’ve been especially focused on getting out into the field, better communication and celebrating outstanding performance. Strong communication among our operational departments has definitely had a positive impact all around.

I have been working at Air Wisconsin Airlines full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Small Company Everyone knows each other One flight attendant per plane, if you like working alone. Well Maintained Planes Easy Training Good Working Environment Great Crews

      Cons

Management can be troublesome and disagreeable after probation (they are very helpful and friendly during probation, but seem to lose interest after) If you have bills and expenses, you CAN NOT live off the base salary. Management is very closed minded and not open to new/next generation ideas. Planes are very very small, not ideal for taller individuals. Crew Scheduling is not automated and every request must...

I have been working at Air Wisconsin Airlines full-time

      Pros

Contract details that do not allow the company to completely strip you of all your pay when being used.

      Cons

Understaffed, Managers and Management “Pilots” that do not care about their pilots or flight attendants, no sense of loyalty to their front line workers, undertones of the company willing to do anything to make or save a few dollars on the backs of their underpayed staff, general willingness to only care about their bottom line, no free flow of information from management to the front line workers, and a general use...

Those decisions should not be taken lightly and with only the budgetary gains and losses in mind. Holiday and “rah rah” messages only work if the workers know and trust you to take care of their best interests. That...
