    Pros

Good pay. Products are well designed and robust for the most part. Fast expense reimbursement. Job looks good on your resume.

    Cons

Chaotic work environment. Constant changes to internal processes ensures the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Insufficient (non-existent) training for new employees - hit the ground running and learn on the job as best you can. Crucial executives are not fit for their jobs making underlings lives miserable. This job will beat you down and make you question your abilities

    Advice to Management

Management wouldn't take advice so pointless to give any.

    I worked at Airbus full-time

    Pros

Production employees were wonderful to get to know and work with. A lot of aviation experience in the room when those ladies and gentlemen were around.

    Cons

The disability insurance policy chosen for the FAL employees was poorly researched, poorly implemented, and likely the cheapest that they could find.

Management is only consistent on a few things: dishonesty, unethical workplace practices, and looking out only for themselves.

Upon hiring production employees, piles of promises were made very few were followed through on. Most were outright denied once everyone had been relocated to Hamburg for training.

On top of this unfortunately very accurate circumstance, all employees that were not a part of a very obvious clique that had formed in management were constantly observed and the goings on of our personal lives were reported to HR in great detail albeit half-truths.

This obviously made the work environment highly hostile, and spilled over considerably into our personal lives.

HR had two distinct faces, one acting as some sort of "sweetheart" and the superior acting as a schoolyard bully. They rarely worked for the employees in their charge even as they promised to be the "lifeline" for us while we were four thousand miles from home.

Lies about benefits, pay raises, bonuses, workplace culture, and general treatment were put to us like an indoctrination during on boarding, and nearly immediately abandoned once we were out of earshot.

Management, most notably human resources, fails to treat their employees as human beings. They only make good their promises or admit failure, dishonesty, or maltreatment once backed into a corner.

    Advice to Management

"Restructuring" would be one word that comes to mind.

If that happens it will be surprising.

Treat the people you are hired to -support- as if they are the breadwinners for your families. Make no mistake about it...They absolutely are.

Do not lie, take underhanded action, or subscribe to any sort of mobbing mentality.

We all went to work excited and enthused about our future contributions to Airbus FAL as not only a job but a family we wanted to see thrive. Divide the workforce as you've done and you will see the company suffer.

    Pros

Was a great company when they were working in FL/AL.

    Cons

Working in VA was not a good experience...we were treated like red-headed step children, although we were the main purpose the company was around.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees fairly and let them know it's the same everywhere.

I have been working at Airbus full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Most employees are hard working and dedicated.

    Cons

Human resource department has an agenda, and totally lacks good management, leadership or human resource skills. It is detrimental to every department and ultimately effects the customers.

The supply department is chaotic. Too many supervisors and not enough workers.

In the last year the company has imported managers from Spain. These people are taking jobs away from qualified Americans. The management of the company is slightly better, especially for the Spanish-speaking employees, but there are thousands of qualified Americans that could do these jobs if they had a good Human Resource Department.

    Advice to Management

Fill positions based on qualifications, and none of those should be; who has been here the longest, are they Spanish, do they speak Spanish, or are they a friend.

    Pros

A really relaxed, laid back "office" atmosphere. Employees regularly wore shorts and t-shirts to work and can seamlessly work from home whenever they felt like it. Some very smart project managers and business knowledge at the middle level management. Uses all sources of technology from MS to open source, depending on the project.

    Cons

Uses all sources of technology from MS to open source. This is really a Microsoft development shop. Old products in use for years that need to be replaced but no one can finish new projects, patches, or updates. Drowning in their own faults. Absolutely no communication. Old employees run the underground here. If you ain't one of them, you ain't going to be happy here.

    Advice to Management

You have major leaks in this boat starting with the "experienced" employees not playing ball and protecting them. Time to crack the whip or this ship is disembarking So Cal.
