I worked at Airports Council International as a contractor

    Pros

Good organization, great people, good treatment of employees, good medical and benefits.

    Cons

Sometimes there's too much concentration on minutiae.

    Advice to Management

Be careful of some of the department heads' tendencies to micro-manage...

I worked at Airports Council International full-time

    Pros

Great downtown location, close to train stations and restaurants

    Cons

Extremely low morale across staff due to the indifferent attitude of the CEO Kevin Burke and senior executives more focused on themselves than member and staff needs.

    Advice to Management

Bring in senior leadership that work well together and have leadership and workplace culture seminars to improve office relationships. This office also has practically no diversity which is impressive considering the downtown DC location.

I worked at Airports Council International full-time

    Pros

The members the organization works on behalf of are truly great and the office location is nice

    Cons

The office culture is completely and totally miserable. The CEO treats the place like his personal spot, the VP's don't get along at all and are always talking behind each other's backs, some coworkers don't even speak to each other. Coming here daily will undoubtedly depress you.

    Advice to Management

Change the leadership, change the culture

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Airports Council International full-time

    Pros

Friendly and effective staffers who bring a cosmopolitan feel to the environment.

    Cons

Sub-par salaries and benefits, complicated by a hierarchical management structure that benefits senior leadership at the expense of working priorities and staff confidence.

    Pros

Extremely competent Director General and senior management team. Very strong culture of trust within the organization and due to its relatively small size you are able to get your hands into many interesting and diverse international projects. Good internationally diverse team to work with in ACI. The HR department is very focused on its people and works hard at positive motivation and on-going professional development.

It’s the type of place you wake up in the morning and just can’t wait to get to the office.

    Cons

If you come from a large company or airport there is some adjustment to make as ACI-World is small, but either than that there really is nothing that is negative.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you do!
