"Great Company and Culture. High attrition in Service Delivery."

I have been working at Akamai full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I love working at Akamai. The technology is unparalleled and the people are exceedingly smart and competent.

    Cons

Management doesn't seem to care to much about attrition in the Services Delivery organization. Your salary will be much higher coming in from outside of Akamai than if you are promoted from within Akamai. Engineering is another ball of wax. Engineers are treated generally better than Professional Services.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating Solutions Architects as such an expendible commodity.

    Pros

Diligent and professional management and employees. Interesting products and services. Fair compensation.

    Cons

Often I wished for greater contact between upper management and employees in non-headquarter offices.

    Advice to Management

Allocate time and resources for people who think outside the box, in order to avoid product and culture stagnation.

I have been working at Akamai full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Above the average benefit. Unlimited PTO as long as your manager approves. Great work-life balance. Great company outlook. Smart people to work with.

    Cons

Collaboration between different teams is sometimes difficult. Not the best perks for continuing education (~$5000 per year). Company does not get much mass reputation because it's been very low-key in this industry.

    Advice to Management

Keep your good work. Tom Leighton as the CEO has been really awesome.
