    Pros

Coworkers were great and were always there for support or help
    Benefits were excellent
Plenty of time off offered after a year
    Opportunities for growth

    Cons

Not enough time in the day to ever get your work done
High expectations always placed on you, which led to quite a bit of stress
Working with the public meant a lot of angry people, no matter how nice you are to them

    Advice to Management

Need more employees to spread out the workload

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Agency believes in its mission. Opportunity for advancement in established positions. Excellent benefits. Competitive pay. Lower ranks have free access to upper management. Bargaining unit environment.

    Cons

Some positions are over-worked, under-staffed. Limited growth potential due to the nature of the business means new opportunities are rare. Bargaining unit environment.

    Advice to Management

Implement relevant assessments for all new hires and internal transfers/promotions, including both aptitude and personality, to gauge fit for position. Extend probationary period. Job description minimum qualifications need stronger language.
