I have been working at Alamos Gold

    Pros

its a job that provides decent food

    Cons

the internet and phone situation for contractors is ridiculous, i can't talk to my husband for 28 days. this is ridiculous ( yes we attempt to speak but only have facebook and the call drops all the time because of the worst internet ever!!! just give people a phone. Or be responsible for a miserable work force!

    Advice to Management

provide people with the means to enjoy their job while still maintaining a family life!

I worked at Alamos Gold full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Active mining and exploration projects, strong corporate team, committed to being a social responsible corporate citizen

    Cons

Gaps in information flow between corporate office and field locations, top-down leadership style, lower level employees are discouraged from innovating and suggesting opportunities for improvement/growth

    Advice to Management

Set up young staff to succeed, provide job security and support, encourage a culture of transparency

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Alamos Gold full-time

    Pros

Great Pay and benefits, Understanding Management. Good work life balance at junior levels. I'd imagine this would erode the further up the ranks one gets.

    Cons

People tend to get pigeonholed into a specific role, and find it difficult to get promoted. Sometimes people promoted based on tenure rather than merit.

    Advice to Management

Start a defined training program for young and eager employees who are willing to learn and contribute to the company.
