Back breaking work for low pay

Aug 25, 2021 - Ramp Agent in San Jose, CA

    Pros

potential flight benefits, but you will be too tired and exhausted from all of the ramp work to do much traveling. the only good thing is that in between the flights (where you are loading the luggage on the plane) there is a bit of down time.

    Cons

entire job is manual labor. make sure you eat alot of food and drink water or you may get injured quickly. alot of people get bad injuries on this job due to lack of attention to detail. would not recommend this job to anyone other than people who absolutely love manual labor. There was often racism, bullying and harassment at this particular location (SJC - Mineta). Whether or not you were EVER going to get promoted was solely based on who you know working for the company when you were initially hired.

    Cons

You are constantly monitored and micromanaged. You can’t call out sick ever no matter what or you get written up. You pay union dues for a union that is completely useless. You are worked like a slave, forced to work overtime and management does not care about your mental health.
