I have been working at Alaska Airlines full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Opportunities to grow within the company (Seattle only) - especially from front line positions, Executive communication that recognizes Travel benefits including free space available standby travel on Alaska flights, low cost space available travel on many other global airlines, medical/dental/vision available - at least two choices depending on your state of employment, incentives for company achievements - if met - can include cash bonuses and confirmed travel credits

    Cons

Pay scales are not competitive leading to regular turnover, highly limited growth potential outside of Seattle, reductions in force while stating a need to focus on only the work which matters has led to additional work for everyone - no follow through, company actions often don't match the decisions or statements made by the Executives (somewhere between executive lip service and an acceptance for Management to execute in ways that don't align), reliance on under qualified internal candidates and temporary roles leads to ineffective and inefficient project execution too often, projects often lack standard management and sponsorship practices to reach the intended goals (few project managers, no change managers), general feeling of work for works sake, fire drills are the norm, unstructured training and on-boarding with a reliance on learning as you go, get ready to hear - "we don't have the resources for that"
