I have been working at Alaska USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent entry level position at a branch with a lot of experiences given to you.

    Cons

Advancement is based off of sales and numbers. Without it you become scrutinized and forgotten.
Credit union follows more of a banking philosophy and utilizes pushy sales tactics and contests that don't benefit members.

    Pros

Great medical, vacation, and retirement options. Monday through Friday schedule and some flexibility with schedule.

    Cons

Hard work and knowledge gets looked over. To advance you must kiss butt or plan on a very slow growth and extra hurdles to overcome situations that others aren't subject to.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your loyal employees and insure equal advancement to those that qualify.

I worked at Alaska USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Tons of opportunities to move positions and switch roles, and with multiple locations, you can switch states too. If upper management likes you, you can do no wrong and get away with anything.

    Cons

    Micromanaged for everything.
Crap retirement benefits, unless you started in the 70’s or 80’s.
Supervisors who suck don’t get fired, they just get their responsibilities taken away.
Sticklers for the unimportant garbage, but lax when it comes to actually doing work.
A lot of favoritism and nepotism.
    Non-stop rumors.
    No clear communication from management.
Management is delusional and oblivious to facts.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what is happening with your employees. If you have a mass exodus or continual exodus from 1 department, it’s probably not the 40 people who quit, it’s probably the supervisor/manager.
