    Cons

Need to listen to employees ideas for improvements.

    Pros

Company is willing to invest in newer technologies in goal of being the industry leader. For the most part, the products and their quality remain the best in the industry.

    Cons

Company has gone from being a family owned, family oriented company who considered employees their greatest asset to one focused on costs. Joe Marone, current CEO, was the first to fill the position from outside the industry or company (former college president) and that changed the entire culture. His lack of practical real world work experience, arrogance and aristocratic attitude has alienated many if not most employees.

As mentioned in other ratings above, the top management cronies are/were all inexperienced and friends of Mr. Marone who had no management skills whatsoever. The company shifted from valuing their employees to valuing their stockholders and senior management bonuses.

I spent 25 years there - the first 20 were wonderful and I found this to be one of the best companies to work for anywhere. Friends and colleagues who are still there say each day is pure misery now.

    Advice to Management

The board of directors needs to clean out the executive offices and put qualified people in those positions. The current executive administration will eventually lead to the demise of this once great 100+ year old company.

    Pros

Stayed on top of raises. Best supervisor ever he did the same work as as his subordinates he understood his workers better than anyone else always willing to get his hands dirty to help out.

    Cons

Never ending amounts of mandatory overtime. Kept increasing unrealistic production #'s without increasing workers or equipment necessary to do production on. Upper management heartless robots who only want to see numbers force you to come in every weekend while he ( shall not be named) plays golf every weekend but never contributes or even comes in to see how his disheartened workers . so many people reached out to him if conditions did not get better they would be forced to leave . So many ended up walking out or quitting.

    Advice to Management

Get a manager who has done the dirty work who knows what its like to be in his employees shoes. Not some guy who has business management degree that likes to intimidate his works by puffing out his chest all the time.

Half the hourly employees do all the work while the other half skate by doing very little, management let's this happen.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Treat the employees better and production will pick up greatly with less overtime saving money
