Nothing much to say here. You have to be a go getter and self manage. You will get out what you put into the job.

I have been working at Albourne Partners Limited full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People in the company are generally very friendly and collaborative. Some nice office perks depending on the office, team meals, weekly drink events, fun outdoor activities, etc. Company really tries to get people involved in the culture. Flexible with regards to scheduling, in that staff take their vacations and are expected to and can work out of other offices when traveling.

    Cons

Not much in the way of career guidance. Although the structure is pretty flat (Partner or not Partner) there is no guidance given to young professionals of how they can become a Partner or move up the ladder. A lot of young professionals are confused as to how to progress their careers within the company, whereas at other organizations, there is some sort of title recognition or something of that sort. Most Partner level professionals have come from outside the organization (where they have made their money) and don't look to be making way for younger hungry professionals.

Pay is well below market, but that's the price one pays for flexible scheduling and strong company culture.

Like all organizations, there is politics but most of this is at the more senior level.

    Advice to Management

Promote more people from within, more career guidance.

I have been working at Albourne Partners Limited full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Culture: Every office is very close-knit. There is certainly an "Albourne" culture - people are very friendly, office happy hours every week, very smart people but no elitism. A once per year Firm offsite, held at a different location in the world (last three have been Cyprus, Oxford, and Amsterdam ) is the best week of the year. If you work hard and are smart and entrepreneurial, you will do great at Albourne. If you need someone to hold your hand, you won't last long.

    Cons

Pay is way under market but the lifestyle makes up for it (nearly 30 vacation days that you can actually use), lots of travel on the due diligence side.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    Pros

Albourne is a dominant force in the alternatives asset industry bringing investors transparency to new highs every years. Pros are:

The people are incredibly bright. You'll learn from some of the best minds in the industry.
The company has poised itself to adapt to change really quickly and has brought out more departments and deliverables in the last 5 years to remain constantly competitive. There's a lot of opportunity for any person joining.
The staff are friendly; it's a casual, relaxed environment in the sense that it's not stiff and buttoned-up like most firms of similar size.
People will help you if you're stuck on a problem; teams do share the workload and colleagues are supportive to each other.
Keep your head down, your nose clean and you'll be fine and what's more enjoy working there.

    Cons

No company is perfect. There will always be things people don't like. Training within teams could be better, so the onus is on the individual to ask for help and offer to take on more responsibility in order to learn. If you are shy or insecure this may prevent you from doing so and you'll be stressed unnecessarily. So be prepared to speak up and ask for help but also keep trying difficult work in order to learn. Don't give up and sit by the sidelines. Workload for some people/departments can be heavy - sometimes the distribution of projects isn't always fair. But this is up to the individual to ask for help, share parts of the project, and it's up to departments to perform at their best, in these times, and keep abreast of new knowledge and tools of their trade in order to improve speed, efficiency and accuracy of their work. It's basically what you make of it, you'll get out of it and it's easy to get a lot out of the job if you have the right mindset.
