I worked at Album Creative Studios (Less than a year)
You won't have to pay taxes on the money you won't receive.
Album hired me to build a responsive website for their client in late 2014. They did not provide assets other than desktop comps, thoughtfully created with Sketch (who uses Photoshop, anyway?)...after launch, they asked me to support the myriad requested changes in design and functionality. I agreed to fix any bugs and quoted a discounted hourly rate for out-of-scope work, which they acknowledged and accepted. After three additional months of steady, hard work, the site was finally complete. I put in an invoice for the extra hours and expected it to be covered without issue. After sixty days came and went without a check, I inquired into the status and was told that they disagreed with my rate and total hours - blatantly questioning my honesty - while refusing to pay. The invoice (a whopping $1600) is now going to collections and I remain uncompensated. The con here is that you won't get paid.
