I have been working at Alchemy Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - The work life balance is absolutely amazing, people here are dedicated to their work, and their lives outside of work.
    - A lot of work to do, projects come in fast and we are always learning new ways to do things
    - Bonuses are awesome, as well as the goals system that allows you to spend some time learning new skills every quarter
    - Benefits and pay are really nice

    Cons

    - The company is trying to be too many things at once, so sometimes groups get forgotten or don't get the focus they deserve
    - The organization of the company is kind of a mess, no one really knows what position they are in relative to their peers a lot of the time

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to try to put more focus on some teams that are left behind, sometimes it feels like your work isn't valuable when 90% of the company's events and emails have nothing to do with you.

I worked at Alchemy Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked in the Customer Service Department for almost a year. The team had great core of people all with several years of experience. For the most part everyone would help out others in times of need. I enjoyed the casual environment of the Customer Service team. The Manager Molly is great as she listens to you and does everything she can, you just have to let her know what is on your mind or going on in the department.

The company offers lots of little perks like "Taco Thursday's", a game room and $0.25 cent sodas. Usually there is some event or department eating so you can always find food. Shorts & t-shirts are the dress code for most employees.

I enjoyed my time there and am grateful for the opportunity!

    Cons

    - There are some office politics but it is not horrible, although I did not experience any in Customer Service.
    - The software/platform that is the core products is cumbersome. Currently, updates to the platform are done by mailing out USB drives to all customers and then it involves a lengthy installation process.(They are working on a digital download coming later this year last I heard).
    - Sometimes there is confusion about what is going on in with the company.
    - Salary is a little low but I moved from California to Texas so there was bound to be a discrepancy.
    - Not a lot of opportunity to move up in the company. Most people stay for a long time so this affects that.

    Advice to Management

I think you are doing a good job overall. There are some issues that need to be worked on. I think you have a great customer service team and I always heard that we were spoken very highly of. Always keep this in mind.

I have been working at Alchemy Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Everyone at Alchemy really care about each other, the product, and the customers. Each year at clients come all over to Austin and have nothing but really positive reviews of the team and product. Very flexible environment.

    Cons

Small company learning to be a medium sized business, so always growing pains. Team is sometimes stretched with limited resources.

    Advice to Management

Invest in the right areas and push innovation faster, invest more in R&D.

I have been working at Alchemy Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Small and pretty good balance of teams and work.
    Good interview process.
    Regular meetings.

    Cons

Good leadership is scarce and everyone walks on eggshells around a certain executive. A lot of micromanaging from the top.

    Advice to Management

Sell this thing to the first bidder while the ship is still a float.

I worked at Alchemy Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Alchemy is one big family. They are friendly and flexible. So much food...all of the time!! Food at work, lunch out with the team, taco Thursday... Alchemy invests in their employees, encourages ideas, lets you work autonomously, and treats you like an adult!

Alchemy gave me a chance fresh out of college and hired me to work on the inside sales team. I was inspired, mentored, and encouraged every day! I moved on for a bigger opportunity, but I have nothing bad to say about my time with Alchemy!

    Cons

Alchemy is a small company. If you're patient you can move up.
I wish they paid more...but I would say that no matter what they paid.

    Advice to Management

Set reasonable goals. Targets should be difficult to reach, but not impossible.

I worked at Alchemy Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I cannot think of any. I am trying to come up with something nice to say and it is really difficult. They do have coffee.

    Cons

Customers are too smart for "if you act now" routine.

Sales team uses old, car-dealer style strategies that drive away customers.

    Advice to Management

You have not made goal in years, and micromanagement does not work, particularly in sales.

Hire the best and get out of the way.
