Great sales people and team trains well
Cons
Ended up not making what I should have because of their pay model. Read the paperwork. Its kind of a scam.

Great Place to Build a Resume!
Dec 2, 2019 - Customer Service Representative in Orem, UTRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The people here are amazing. Everyone is so nice and ready to help you and answer any questions they might have. They provide FREE lunch every Friday which is a huge bonus!
Cons
Their training needs some work. With the high call volume they seem to not focus on training as much which results in being under prepared to take calls right away.

Alder Sales Rep
Aug 25, 2021 - Door to Door Sales RepresentativeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
You get to travel to new states and get to meet some great people. The company does pay for some trips if you meet requirements.
Cons
Management of a certain team really needs to learn better leadership skills. I wouldn’t recommend females for this job because I’ve seen how girls are treated in some teams. Some of the workers use unethical methods to sell the product as well.

Customer Service Rep/Tech Support Rep
Dec 17, 2016 - Customer Service Representative - Tech Support in Orem, UTRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Very flexible schedule and free lunch every Friday, as well as lots of free Alder gear (they are all about marketing their brand). They also try really hard to make working in the call center a fun and goal providing experience.
Cons
Management treats people in the call center or operations as kind of second class. Like most security and alarm companies, the focus is on the sales people, and everyone else is just kind of along for the ride. Plus, some of the sales reps do some rather shady things. If they focused on making their sales force more ethical and focused on the customer rather than just the sale.
Continue readingWe appreciate this former employee recognizing our great perks and can understand their frustrations as well. Alder is a rapidly growing company and as such, we're experiencing growing pains. One such pain may be the feeling that people in a non-sales role are not as important as the sales force. We are a sales company and have great passion for long term customer service. Everyone is expected to do their part and we have a lot to accomplish to support that (especially for operations, non-sales roles). At Alder, any employee can make a huge difference for the better, that's one of the amazing benefits we offer: meaningful work. We take any accusation of unethical business practices very seriously and hold our sales representatives accountable. Our sales representatives have incentives to provide long term customer service by the way we've structured their long term compensation, to avoid those churn and burn sales quotas found in other organizations. Our leadership team's doors or the People Department doors are always open if anyone has any concerns they'd like to discuss. We encourage open and honest feedback without retaliation here at Alder. Thank you for your feedback!

Free snacks, building was nice
Cons
This company employs some of the worst people I have ever met in my entire life. I have never been so over worked, under valued and underpaid in my life. Working with the licensing department sent me to intensive therapy. By far the rudest people I have ever met. They are power hungry, mean, petty, dishonest, and I consistently felt that they were trying to make me fail. This company as a whole is dishonest. I witnessed extremally immoral, explicit, disgusting conversations by the leaders of the company during my time there. Every time a concern was brought up it was immediately dismissed.

Pros
Free snacks. That’s it. Literally.
Cons
This was the worst company I have ever worked for. They extremely overpromise and absolutely never deliver. The amount of things I was told would change and never did is ridiculous. I consistently watched management be dishonest and straight up lie to their employees. Other staff made working there absolutely miserable and set you up to fail. I listened to disgusting and inappropriate conversations from “upper management” and was even the subject of these conversations sometimes. Extreme sexual harassment from a specific employee and when reported it was laughed about. The only good people I knew there no longer work there due to the same complaints :)
