Overall, The health care benefits are pretty good. I seriously don't have enough pros to meet the 20 word maximum.

I worked at Alere full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There's opportunity for growth since the company was bought out officially in 2015 by Optum health. You can now move to other departments, find a job in another state with the company and negotiate your pay.
The work is fairly easy just repetitive.

    Cons

Too many people there that were comfortable with the low pay and very territorial about their positions. Some people had been there for 10 years plus and are just starting out on the salary I hired was on with. The work isn't a challenge and repetitive. Asking patient whether or not they've used their device every two days becomes redundant.

    Advice to Management

Turn over is too high. Unrealistic demands, Too much micromanaging because so many people are afraid of losing there jobs. Hire managers or supervisors that care about their jobs and the quality of your business. I felt like I was in an inner city school with no funds and my manager was a teacher there only for his/her pay check.

I have been working at Alere full-time

    Pros

A lot of freedom to come and go, great people who are passionate about the work.

    Cons

Management does not provide sufficient resources to do our job resulting in long hours and excessive stress. Hire more people and stop the 40-60% annual turnover.

    Advice to Management

Quality department is hemorrhaging talent. It's not the environment, it's the pay. We can literally go across the street and get a $20k/yr raise.
