I worked at Alexander Aronson Finning & P.C full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good work environment, good interaction with peers at your skill level. Able to work independently.

    Cons

Management can be "out of touch" with underclassmen workloads - some have way too much on their plates- others have some excess leisure time. Tax season- Jan-April....... constant late nights and working all weekends until it is over- for the same 40 hour salary....... no work/life balance during this time.

    Advice to Management

Spread the work around more evenly to the "worker bees" to ensure adequate work for all.

    Pros

Career coaching, competitive salaries and fringe, flexible work schedules, multiple office locations, great amount of training, for profit and non profit work plus consulting, partners involvement and open door policy, plenty of room for promotion. BBJ and Boston globe best places to work for several consecutive years, woman's opportunity network is a great initiative that puts AAFCPAs ahead of the curve.

    Cons

Some growing pains but partners attempt to address quickly, recently expanded Boston office and now should expand to northern mass, southern NH

    Pros

Everyone was extremely nice and helpful, I felt like I could go up to anyone at the office and ask a question. The clients are mostly non-profits and are doing some amazing things, so it is really interesting to be able to see the work they do, and to help them there.

    Cons

Seemed to get 'messy' at times, too many clients and not enough senior staff.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you have the staff to be able to take on more clients.
