I have been working at Alfred Angelo Bridal full-time

    Pros

You will learn a ridiculous amount of awesome things. You will love your team, love the environment (most days...this is still sales). You will test the limits of your patience, pride, understanding, and test your dedication.
    Fun
    Rewarding
    Fast Paced
Challenging- you will never be bored
    Huge resume builder

    Cons

They simply put demand too much for what they pay for management. Stylist make almost as much as management and management is working over 60 hours a week easily on minimum salary. If you start in management here negotiate your salary high because there will never be a raise
    High in difficulty
    High in pressure on management
    High in stress
    Low pay
Long hours (12 hour minimum on management)
    High expectations with little direction

    Advice to Management

The managers work VERY hard, my advice to upper management would be to make sure your managers can take their vacation. Not one day here or one day there, a full week. You are BURNING them out and you need to remember they can make more doing less almost EVERYWHERE else.

I worked at Alfred Angelo Bridal part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun environment, loved working with brides/parties, no drama between coworkers, learn a lot, management is nice as well as upper lever management

    Cons

Work EVERY weekend which makes it hard to plan a trip/vacation, unorganized, old/outdated system, not enough hours or pay for all you have to do, wait til the dress arrives til you get commission which is under 5%

    Advice to Management

Reorganize the back room. It's ridiculous. Need to go paperless and/or find a way to eliminate all the paperwork. Update from the DOS system. The online scheduling needs to be able to be approved by the store before being made. There is no reason for everyone to work every weekend. Everyone should get at least one weekend off in the 'slow' season. When things start to get 'stressful' management doesn't know how to handle it and the stylists get attitude from both ends. I enjoyed working with AA and you do learn a lot. Definitely fun making a brides dream come true!

I have been working at Alfred Angelo Bridal full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a very calm work atmosphere. Working with brides are very rewarding. The team is very conscious of goals, but not to the point of where they stress you out

    Cons

Pay is less than decent, commission sucks. They start u at 10 an hour and 2 percent commission. And then u have to wait for the items to come in to even see ur commission.

    Advice to Management

Start people at 4% commission and advance them to 6, that would be more of an opportunity for employees to make money

    Pros

Great job working with brides and their families to plan the big day. My particular location didn't have the best upper management structure. Therefor days could have been much better and weren't.

    Cons

Upper management structure and corporate directives.

    Pros

Working with brides is wonderful and the people who work at the store are great too. Never a dull moment.

    Cons

You are on the front line for the company repeatedly dropping the ball with girls dresses. Either quality control issues or shipping delays it makes for unhappy brides.

    Advice to Management

More communication with the merchandising team and upper management. New computer/pos system so you aren't required to do a report for your report.

    Pros

It's a very fun environment and gives a lot of room to build relationships and be creative. The crew there is very warm, friendly, and most really want to support and help one another out. I look into going to work every day, which is very important.

    Cons

A lot of dresses have been coming in with problems and that gets pinned on the stylists - which unfortunately comes out of our commission even though we had no part in that. The company has also had issues with sending things in a timely manner (especially rushes which include fees that the customers pay for). It's tough to keep track of commission - some employees will taking other stylists sales and there hasn't been any retribution for them doing that - and in the end that hurts our paychecks and we don't get rewarded for the hard work that we do.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to make sure each stylist gets the commission for the appointments they take. Please also refrain from taking commission from us for dress returns when it is not our fault.

I worked at Alfred Angelo Bridal full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Loved my store. Very close staff. Loved my immediate manager.

    Cons

Constantly changing practices (though the company was still eliminating Bridesmart practices) Never enough hours to keep more than one consultant at a time on weekdays.

    Advice to Management

No one pays attention when the greeting is scripted. I'd rather have a consultant who cared and knew their product than one who is focused on getting the script right and not listening
