I worked at Alice & Olivia full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The discount and clothing allowance was good since we could only wear Alice & Olivia clothing to work. Very fashionable with new trends.

    Cons

The company and management is very strict to achieving sales goals. Need to adapt to the selling cultural and language.

I worked at Alice & Olivia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Clothing allowance, some lovely people

    Cons

Run screaming if you are offered a job at corporate HQ. This company is run by a shrill brat who presumably never had to work another job, has never had to be nice to anyone, and has lived her entire 42 years in a bubble of her own creation. Imagine if Trump was a fashion designer who loved yoga... that’s who we’re talking about here. Erratic, unpredictable, rude, belittling all the staff, firing people with no... good reason, creating a constant climate of fear. And obsessed with the vanity project that is her social media account (instagram, which paints an entirely inaccurate, upside-down idea of the person she really is). Honestly this is the worst job you will ever have. Don’t do it!

    Advice to Management

Nothing at this company will change while Stacey is still in charge (presumably that ain’t changin). So my advice to lower tiers of management is: quit. You won’t look back.

I have been working at Alice & Olivia full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Incentives, clothing allowance , benefits, clothing

    Cons

No room for growth with several manipulative conversations in between, intense workload, will make you go above and beyond your job description, catty work environment, CEO claims to empower women but does not care about her employees therefore trickles down to management. Interview process is intense therefore a lot of people with very skilled work ethic are employed, but unfortunately they never stay. Upper... management is rude with high expectations and don’t understand the intense day to day work load

    Advice to Management

Take the time to invest in your people. Listen to your people. Look at how many good employees quit !!!! Training is a waste of time if so many people end up leaving!!!!!

I worked at Alice & Olivia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Clothing allowance, cute office space

    Cons

Below standard pay, extremely catty environment, CEO and President preach women empowerment and women run company yet pay and treat their employees very poorly, having lunch outside the office is often frowned upon, leaving the office before 7pm also causes glares, 50+ hour work weeks

    Advice to Management

Compensate your (mostly women) employees properly before you start making "women's rights" t-shirts and try cultivating a more friendly environment.

    I worked at Alice & Olivia full-time

    Pros

Clothing allowance, Staff members are nice

    Cons

The President is a terrible human being. She thinks the best way to do her job is to demean her employees. She has two upper-level managers who suck up to her all day, and throw everyone else under the bus so they can maintain their position. Even though they talk about her in a negative way after a few drinks. Can't even start to talk through the cons on the CEO... She is the opposite of a positive role model for... women. No one respects her. People just know you have to "manage" her because of her moods.

    Advice to Management

Get new leadership or stand up to current leadership. Let them know it is unacceptable to treat other people the way they do.

I have been working at Alice & Olivia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Clothing allowance and the Commission

    Cons

Practically everything. I have NEVER felt so disrespected in my life. The staff is super catty and upper management tends to pick favorites regardless of their performance. Forget about speaking up for yourself and doing too well as your coworkers will get jealous and team up to get you terminated. This job is what made me walk away from retail for good. Stay away.

    Advice to Management

Stop giving soooooo many tasks to your employees so they won't get burned out and can focus on whats most important: The clients.

I worked at Alice & Olivia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Employee discount and clothing allowance

    Cons

    - Indirect communication from senior management, all talk about training and coaching but actions do not follow as conversations tend to be very aggressive! - Management is quick to write people up if they miss even a month of goals; where is the investment to helping your team grow? - Very high turn over, with most associates staying a 1.5 years... Ouch! - The team work in the districts are inconsistent and... everyone seems out to get each other, even though "one team, one goal" is put as a focus. - Upper management will tell you what you want to hear and then will try and manipulate you. -Stacey Bendet has no idea how things are run in the retail level.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people in a positive manner! Other retailers out there are successful and able to retain their employees in times when retail is down because POSITIVE support and feedback goes further than NEGATIVE!

I worked at Alice & Olivia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good clothing allowance and employee discount. A lot of fun and creative people that work at the company . Great office location

    Cons

Unprofessional. Very unfairly treated and under paid for the amount of work that is done. The CEO is very unprofessional towards employees . Everything is poorly mis run. Comes from upper management, things are always cancelled and never run on schedule. Expect employees to work overtime.

    Advice to Management

    Treat employees better

    I worked at Alice & Olivia full-time

    Pros

The only pro is you get a decent clothing allowance twice a year, but everything else pretty much sucks.

    Cons

First of all, the clothing quality sucks and you will notice it doesn't hold up very long + cheap materials. That already creates a bad customer experience. The company sales culture is so aggressive and you are faced with very unrealistic sales goals. Factor that in with employees who are fighting with each other for every sale and no ones has each others back. Unhealthy retail work environments like this made me... leave retail for good.

    Advice to Management

Most upper management has been promoted due to sticking it out with the company for a while. My store manager was horrible at actually training others. Higher people who will inspire, train and educate team members.
