I worked at Alkermes as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cafeteria is nice with decent food

    Cons

Their temp manufacturing associate jobs are a trap. They treat you terribly and pay you terribly. They will fire you on a whim - very unprofessional company.

    Advice to Management

Take a risk and actually hire new people for real instead of having a revolving door of temps.

    I worked at Alkermes full-time

    Pros

I found that most people there were friendly and the culture was pretty good. The location was a bit difficult based on the time of day.

    Cons

Middle management and below is horrible. They treat their people terribly. I have never been treated so poorly in my entire professional career.

    Advice to Management

You need to train your managers on how to treat their employees. Your overseas managers are probably the worse in dealing with people.

good pay, growing, appears to have opportunities

    Cons

original company forced out 90% successful women through harassment and unequal pay. Surprised they got away with it this long.

    Advice to Management

    Get a good attorney.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    they practice good science -

    Cons

No career development/training, poor benefits and compensation. Poor strategy by management (that recently made a mass exodus) left the company with not much of a future in their pipeline.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees, train Directors/ADs/senior scientists in basic management skills. Improve HR function in the organization- increase activities, training and career development programs at all levels of the organization, benefits, team building activities, etc.
