I have been working at Allegheny Technologies (ATI) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

For being an enterprise-size company, ATI seems to care about its employees like a smaller, more personal company. The healthcare benefits are good, and the 401k contribution is outstanding.

    Cons

There have recently been a lot of changes in the leadership, from the bottom all the way to the CEO. While I mostly like the direction things seem to be headed, I fear that the current leadership may be less people-focused in a way that could hurt the "family" feeling culture.

    Advice to Management

Keep the focus on continuous improvement, I really do believe this is the best way to maintain and improve our status as an industry leader in technology and quality. Please remember that your people are your most valuable asset, and many that have been here a long time value the unique, small company culture that you've mostly maintained through many years and stages of growth.

Great company to work for in almost every way. They obviously care for their employees, understand life happens, want you to be happy and comfortable while working, allow flexibility in schedule as needed, encourage creativity and outside the box thinking, give great benefits and unlimited sick days

    Cons

    Too far from the city.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Allegheny Technologies (ATI) full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent Profit Sharing Plan that has a high match rate

    Cons

Unhandy bi weekly paycheck schedule, helps company with cashflow, but makes it hard to financially plan.
Quirky management that adopts ridiculous memes that are contradictory.
Company culture is one of retaliation, and hugely phony.
So called ethics hotline is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Start putting people in charge of things that know what they are doing, and have actual leadership capability.

When you take revenge on someone, you are also hurting yourself too.

Stop promoting snakes into upper level management, but you did get rid of a couple, finally.

I have been working at Allegheny Technologies (ATI) full-time

    Pros

Great employer if you are a go getter.

    Cons

If your wife gets pregnant and works their too, expect them to do nothing for her. They will make her work till pregnancy leave regardless of drs orders or not.

    Advice to Management

Sympathize with your employees. Don’t think of employees as numbers but as people. If someone cannot preform a job due to pregnancy don’t give them an ultimatum of doing their job against dr orders or quitting
