Really nothing that springs to mind.

I have been working at Allen Tate full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Benefits and good place for interns to learn about insurance industry

    Cons

Communication is terrible and politics/favoritism is rampant.

    Advice to Management

This is probably not the place for you if you thrive in a collaborative, positive, team-oriented work environment. If you are honest, empathetic, and expect coworkers to have your back, this is probably not a good fit. If a bullying, sarcastic management style doesn't work for you, my advice is to look elsewhere. The employees that get promoted do so solely on longevity and like to intimidate in order to elevate themselves. If you work best with clear expectations and like to be treated with respect - probably not the right place for you as it rolls from the top down and the top leaders need some people skills training. If you like to play politics and the office gossip game - you may like it here. Don't expect any change as the company is making money with or without you. If you have a mentor inside, you'll be fine, as they will make sure you have what you need to succeed. If you don't, you're at the mercy of the office gossips. Most of the hostility is very carefully hidden so as not to draw the attention of upper management.

I have been working at Allen Tate full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I really like the fact that my branch leader is not splitting her time between the office and servicing her own clients. I can always reach out day or night and actually see her face-to-face during the week with her open door policy. The fact that our branch leader was a recent top producer with Allen Tate gives me added assurance that I'm being guided in the right direction to build my business. This office consists of positive energy, diversity and true care and concern for each other. We love to see everyone succeed!

    Cons

Wish we had an office at the beach where I could work out of when I'm there. We do have over 50 offices in North & South Carolina, just not one at the beach.

    Advice to Management

Hire more branch leaders like ours that empower us to be the best for our clients.

I have been working at Allen Tate full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is nothing to report here

    Cons

Shirley Winchester needs to go to jail

    Advice to Management

Did not show to closing, no contact up to closing. No contact after the sale. No assistance for buying options, only interested in herself and commission, absolutely no client representation. More concerned about being on vacation and conveying mis information and trying to derail a sale. Very very dissappointed in this person, personally she needs to loose her liscence and go to jail for what she put us through, Verry very lazy

I worked at Allen Tate full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Training is good. If you're a newly licensed agent, it's a good place to start your career. You will learn a lot.

    Cons

While training is good, commission split is the worst in the industry in this area. You will pay a lot to Allen Tate for very little in return. This firm offers little value for the amount that you will pay them. There is no flexibility for an agent to run his or her own business as he or she sees fit.

    Advice to Management

Eliminate your corporate overhead that agents pay so much for but receive no benefit from.

I have been working at Allen Tate part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I've worked in the Allen Tate - Wake Forest office for 7 years and it is a terrific team environment! The very experienced broker in charge is dedicated to helping all of her agents succeed, teaching them what she knows, and cares very much about the entire staff. The company has a stellar reputation and provides all kinds of training courses as well, and I have seen both brand new & experienced agents grow their businesses and succeed!

    Cons

You have to cross the street to get to Starbucks.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

Amazing training program, fun co workers. Opportunity for growth is high. Positive work environment.

    Cons

The split is not as high as some other companies, however, the people you work with are not all sharks out for only themselves.

    Advice to Management

    Super managment, super opportunity.
