I worked at Allendale Association full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Health Insurance and medical coverage

    Cons

Not a lot of good to say about this place. Management does not lead or guide employees, no clear cut expectations are given but you will be in major trouble if you do something wrong. Not worth the risk of your reputation or mental health because it's a very negative environment to be in. Promotions go to the laziest, rude, unfitting individuals that lie and cover up for administration and execs. From the top down this place is filled with liars and abusive people. Very few good people there for the right reasons.

    Advice to Management

Hand over power and control to people who actually want to help children and see people promoted for serving rather than who has the biggest mouth and will lie for you.

    Pros

    Good medical and unlimited overtime.

    Cons

Very unsafe place to work. Management gives no support. If certain people don't like you you get in trouble for no reasons. People getting promotions based on personal relationships and friendships. Not based on work performance. Whistleblower policy does not exist at all.

    Advice to Management

Re organize the whole organization. And listen to the bottom feeders.

I have been working at Allendale Association full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I love working with the kids and knowing that I'm making a different in someone life. The employee and staff are great to work with.

    Cons

Sometime you work a lot of hours and might not get a appreciate or a Thank you.

  9. "Mental Health Specialist"

    Pros

Decent staff to work with. Easy to change schedule based on needs. Good job when clients that are there actually want help rather than those who battle staff everyday.

    Cons

Can be easily hurt during restraints. Higher staff rarely cares if you are injured. They care about if the client was injured and if allegations were made. Very high turnover for obvious reasons. Understaffed most of the time and undertrained.

I worked at Allendale Association full-time

    Pros

Overall enjoyed working with the clients teaching them life skills and bringing them off campus into the community

    Cons

A lot of restraints depending on the clients, low staffing, unsafe environment, staff injuries due to incompetence
Program overall does not seem productive to the clients
Not enough clinical discussions, seek out yourself to find client charts and diagnosis in a separate building than working in
Expect staff to do overtime due to shortages

    Advice to Management

higher pay since employees are asked to work as their own security or higher security to ensure staff safety
