I have been working at Allergan full-time

    Pros

Good pay, benefits, and holidays/time off. Fun coworkers. Lots of variety and room for personal growth. I truly believe in our products.

    Cons

No room for advancement unless you are willing to follow without questioning leadership. Management creates new roles, but just fills them with friends/previous coworkers and doesn't actually promote from within. IT is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Stop micro-managing and follow-through on what you say.

I have been working at Allergan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Strong pipeline, and excellent perks make this a great opportunity. Add in being fortunate to have a great team, professional development and opportunities for advancements and this job is quite enjoyable. If you show with action (vs talk) that you want to grow you will be supported

    Cons

Product weighting can determine your bonus, which is nothing new, sometimes it works out, others it doesn't. Also, There's a fair bit of busy work, in terms of corporate compliance, but overall it's helpful. I have a great management team, but I have colleagues in other territories that have really struggled with negative leadership.

I have been working at Allergan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Laid-back, socially accepting environment
Allows listening to music, podcasts, etc.
Decent benefits- tuition reimbursement, 8% 401K match, multiple health insurance choices

    Cons

Lacks any real heart or soul
Job is extremely trial and error based and you will get penalized for things you don't know/aren't trained for
Weak for career growth and development
Not many new skills to learn
Office is kept painfully frigid at all times
Hard to find much significance or enjoyment in what you are doing

    Advice to Management

Ditch the "Must be hired on at Allergan proper to be able to be promoted or transfer positions" policy. If you are qualified for a job, you should be able to pursue it. Don't penalize your temp-to-hires.

I worked at Allergan full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good products to promote, Big Bonuses for the top performers, company car, excellent training, benefits are pretty good with a few exceptions

    Cons

Upper management for sure-not concerned at all for employees themselves. Could care less about work/life balance. Only concerned about how big the company can get, forgetting how employees lives are impacted.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Happy employees equals higher profit. And don't have the attitude...do what I say, not what I do.

I worked at Allergan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good Products, hard working colleagues, Stock options.............. Nothing much else to say. I can't say 20 words about why you should work here

    Cons

Micromanagement, underpaid, manage by fear, never left the Forest mentality, focused more on M&A than innovation. Wrong CEO. Wrong Priorities.

I worked at Allergan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, great discounts on Allergan products. Close to home. Good concierge. Gym facility on campus. Cafeteria on premises. Nice Irvine campus environment.

    Cons

Overworked, understaffed department. Since the Actavis merger employee morale has been low. No transparency. Horrible communication between east and west coast offices.

    Advice to Management

Start caring about your employees instead of your pockets. Enough with the acquisitions! Show some respect. Invest in your employees. Offer all employees stock purchase plan and not just to upper management.
