I worked at Alliance Bank part-time

    Pros

Friendly people within the company that are willing to help out. Also good training staff that really helps young college kids. They are with wsfs now

    Cons

Fairly slow bank with little room to move up. Recently bought out by wsfs bank and did not bring all employees as promised

    Advice to Management

Advice to management would just be good job going through with the merger. It was time. Don't easily forget the younger employees who helped out during the process.

    Pros

Managers are very friendly and treat everyone like family. Very easy to work with ad feel at home.

    Cons

Scheduling conflicts are never turned away and often present resource problems.

    Advice to Management

Be more firm with last second time off request and begin to turn away requests if needed.

I have been working at Alliance Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

No one is going to die here from being overworked.

    Cons

No growth. Salaries and benefits are very poor unless you're a member of upper management. Upper management appears to be completely disinterested in growing this company. They have gotten their stock and stock options and are now just waiting for the bank to be sold to a larger bank so they can collect even more money.

    Advice to Management

    They wouldn't listen anyway.

I worked at Alliance Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The branch staff and back office staff is awesome!

    Cons

    -Upper management
    -No growth
    -Expect way to much
-Way to much drama from upper management.
    -Micromanaging to the extreme.

    Advice to Management

Learn to listen to what the employees want and need. Invest more in marketing to a younger age group and advance your systems. Don't "babysit" the employees, give them some room to make suggestions without shooting them down. The time off polices need to be severely revised.

"Not my favorite job - either micro-managed or ignored for weeks at a time."

    Pros

Alliance has good people at both end of the spectrum - (both the board and the trenches), and offers a competitive benefits package to all full-time employees. The bank is also fairly stable, despite the overall bad rap banks can get.

    Cons

There have been complaints that the senior executive group has trouble trusting the rest of the staff. Micro-management is another common complaint. A lot of the workflow goes through one senior person, which results in a lot of bottle-necks, but the exec isn't held accountable - her direct reports are.

    Advice to Management

Even out the work flow to reduce bottlenecks. Hold all senior execs accountable for clearly communicating goals and expectations but also hold them accountable for allowing their employees to do their own jobs.
