I worked at Alliance Building Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Scheduling flexibility, free bagels on Friday, competitive pay

    Cons

There were a lot more cons than pros, which is a shame. Processes at this company are way over complicated. Pair those over-complicated processes with micro-managers and it leads to the sink or swim/snake pit environment you'll find at Alliance.

Unless you're desperate, don't make the leap to Alliance. With the exception of the reviews on October 15 which were all posted on the same day at the request of Keti Mehta, Chief HR Officer, pay attention to the reviews.

    Pros

Great company for an entry level position. You will definitely learn a lot

    Cons

They do NOT contribute ANYTHING to your 401k
High turnover. Most people leave within their first year unless they do not have college education.
    Human Resource dept is clueless.
Operations team needs a lot of help.
Little to no training. Sink or swim environment.
Vacation time prorated. If you start in February, you will only get 2.5 vacation and 3.5 personal days.
No one wants to take the blame so they point fingers.
Seniors do not acknowledge your presence for at least a year.

    Advice to Management

Give raises to employees who deserve them.
    Get rid of Keti
    Operations team needs help

I worked at Alliance Building Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you need a job only

    Cons

Was hired as an Engineer , was not paid to scale and not giving my title. Was told i must do 120 days trial period. After 120 days was still not advanced , was told when a spot opens only. Waited a year and a half with 4 management changes during this time ,then left for an engineer job with another company. 2 years later they cleared $5,000 from my 401K , said they overpaid and never was a engineer and not entitled to the benifits

    Advice to Management

You lose to many good employees because of poor MGMT

I worked at Alliance Building Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The client list is very impressive. Building services is a tough market even if your father owns many office buildings in New York City.

    Cons

I think it speaks volumes when there are 3 extremely positive reviews on the same day which appear to be written by the same person. Proceed at your own risk.

    Advice to Management

Its really sad that you have to post your own reviews

I worked at Alliance Building Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some really cool accounts in NYC and Queens. Benefits package, dental and reimbursement

    Cons

They have no idea what some accounts are doing, available, contracted. Its like a Abbot and Costello skit some days. The cleaners do whatever they want... union, overtime and job security that few people could dream of. The off sites are best. Find a building and hide there. The main office is super slow for everything. I mean, everything. Now its all electronic leashes. Too much paperwork to make the wrong people liable for situations they cannot control. Its really funny. If you get a job here, avoid the main office at all costs. Politics and inept people abound

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring cleaners as upper management. If your an executive, a college degree should be part of your education history. Not who you grew up with. A lot of potential and trying to fix it all by using the wrong techniques and placing the wrong people in a integral positions. Tick, tock....

    Pros

The management is very helpful and understanding. I am always given work that is fulfilling and aides in my growth within the company. There is a consistent sense of enjoyment in the company.

    Cons

Sometimes the work is a bit tedious and during times of stressful hiring or termination it can get quite chaotic.
