    I have been working at Alliance HealthCare Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Benefits and PTO are outstanding, and quarterly performance based bonuses.
    I was promoted in a short time to a different department that my initial interview was with. This company took a chance on me, knowing I had a splotchy job history but had the right experience. Training is good for certain departments, not so much others. Most of my coworkers are very helpful interacting with me and training.
    The growth of this company seems to really have helped some individuals in learning new things and giving them new responsibilities (which I love) I think it's a great learning curve.

    Cons

    Some of the aged workers who have been there 10 or more years seem bitter towards new employees who are still learning, but that's been the most stressful part of this job.
    Certain positions could use better structure for their training guidelines.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to reward the employees that do work in a timely and productive manner, and set up "probation periods for those who perform below the standards consistently.

    Pros

    they take care of the their own, if you need anything you can reach out to your manager and they will be more than happy to help you

    Cons

    not a lot of benefits and they don't allow you to use your sick days on holidays

    try to provide more help to your employees and be more understanding of their needs

    Recognize that working in a mobile environment is much different from work at a hospital or clinic Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills are necessary in order to be successful.

    Pros

    Senior leadership strongly promotes a healthy work-life balance and encourages employees to voice when they need time off. If you aren't willing to communicate your needs and frustrations, don't expect solutions. If you're willing to work hard and be flexible, there are a plethora of growth opportunities available. Do not expect to be promoted or given additional duties just because you have been here for "x number of years". You have to be actively engaged in furthering your career.

    Cons

    There are an obscene number of directors and vice presidents for a company this small. The majority of directors are performing at a manager level and the VPs are roughly the same. In addition, there is a company-wide obsession with focusing on "high level details", which often leads to confusion and miscommunication for employees working on the day-to-day functions. Finally, while the pay is average for the market, the medical benefit options are dismal for a healthy employee - ironic for a health care company.

    Advice to Management

    Remember to focus on the day-to-day functions of your lower-level staff. We understand that you have visions of grandeur, but if you don't have the buy-in from the folks making it happen, you've failed from the start. Don't make promises on what your department can deliver, without consulting your department.
