I have been working at Alliance United Insurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None , it is literally a dead end job with no room for advancement unless you kiss up to management or your a man since it seems they will promote any man that comes in even if they are lazy or incompetent.

    Cons

Everything is wrong with this company. They over work you, lie to you about pay increases they will tell you there is no money for raises but later you find out only “Certain Employees” were given pay increases mainly the employees who kiss up to management.

    Advice to Management

Fire all your managers all the way to the CEO and restaff with real people not robots.

I worked at Alliance United Insurance full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Sometimes you can work from home.

    Cons

Alliance was a great company to work for, but once Kemper bought them out it became a very unhealthy work environment. There are unrealistic expectations of workloads and zero opportunity for growth or increase in wages. If you have health insurance there expect your annual income to drop every year as you make the same and the insurance doubles.

    Advice to Management

    Leave.

If your lucky you get to work from home!

    Cons

No training no development! You are micromanage every second of the day! Management give you no respect or trust and when their decisions fail they blame the employees not themselves! Do not work for this company it will be a step back in your career!!’ ( was a good company prior to Kemper was buying it)

    Advice to Management

Put some trust and respect in your employee

"Upper Management Has No Respect For The Adjusters Or Customers"

I worked at Alliance United Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Absolutely no pros working for a sweat shop

    Cons

No bonus or raise to speak of. Adjusters have a full load of their own claims they are responsible for and receive audits on. Problem is, you have to be on an automatic phone que so you spend the majority of your day handling other adjuster's calls but cannot truly service the customer. Due to the unrealistic claim load and irrational metrics systems, a lot of customer's get hung up on or put on hold because what matters most to upper management is numbers met on a spread sheet. Turnover is terrible, morale is below zero and adjusters/supervisors are leaving in droves. Stay away from this job for no other reason than it is extremely unhealthy for your mind and heart and work ethic.

    Advice to Management

Leave. And do not let the door hit you on the way out. Each and everyone of you has purposefully set expectations you know the adjusters cannot meet so you can skate out on giving raises or a bonus of any kind. Open your eyes for once and be honest about why so many adjusters and supervisors have left or been unjustly fired, or went out on leave. Your metrics are quite frankly, just as cruel as you are. Please go into another line of work because you are void of any humanity or compassion or common sense.

    Pros

can work from home, but might be allowing that much longer

    Cons

micro management, changes coming and going faster than you change your socks. incredibly hideous workloads. they don't understand CA labor laws

    Advice to Management

reasonable workload and respectful attitude of management to worker bees will lead to better quality and productivity. they haven't given hardly any raises since Kemper bought them in 2015.

    Pros

Casual dress code to a degree.

    Cons

Extreme micromanagement style by upper management; upper management doesn't care about their employees; management creates toxic work environment due to unrealistic goals and burdensome procedures/rules. While upper management receives their bonuses and stock options, the remainder of the employees don't receive raises or bonuses but are required to do the work of 3 or more people.

    Advice to Management

Drain the swamp from the top down. Learn how to treat people (i.e. your employees). Streamline processes and procedures.

I worked at Alliance United Insurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The coworkers are great, some original AU managers are good, there's a breakroom with free oatmeal and free cup o noodles

    Cons

Upper management has no idea how to run a company, they have ruined what was once a really good place to work, upper mgmt speaks poorly about employees in emails, adjusters are CSR reps all day, but still expected to handle their own caseload, no employee appreciation, teeny tiny raises if your lucky to get one, dead end job, micro managed, high pending, unrealistic expectations

    Advice to Management

look in the mirror, realize that you ruined a good company, you ruined a good place to work, you ruined careers. Resign, bring in new upper management, and listen to and appreciate your employees.
