I have been working at Alliant Credit Union full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Alliant is more than just a job. They make you feel important from day one, your never just a number. On top of having a very comfortable work environment Alliant offers great benefits including medical and paid time off. Alliant really tries to make even the littlest attempts to make work enjoyable by caring about your personal health and simply being comfortable working at a desk all day!

    Cons

I honestly cannot think of one con.

I have been working at Alliant Credit Union full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The company cares about its employees. Other than your typical benefits, medical, dental, 401K, they also offer things like message and free fruit. I really enjoy that Alliant also gives back and participates in things like teaching financial literacy to kids, the plane pull at O'Hare Airport, and raises money for different organization through the annual volleyball tournament, to mention a few. They understand that happy employees translate to happy and loyal members.

    Cons

Since it is a lien organization, so you do wear many different hats.

I have been working at Alliant Credit Union (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing benefits and above average pay.

    Cons

Management is incompetent and left over from the 1980s. I would never recommend this as a place to work to any developer who seeks to do anything but be a body in a chair.

    Advice to Management

It’s common to hear that employees don’t quit jobs, they quit bosses. This is the perfect example of that saying. The company provides every benefit or perk that an employee could ask for, except for competent management. Individually, it is easy to criticize specific choices, but that isn’t my complaint. Instead, the issue is that Management seems to have no understanding of the landscape around them. Fortunately, these issues seem contained to the Technology side of the company, but since there are no branches, this will quickly begin to erode the Member Experience, ultimately hurting other parts of the company.

    Pros

The Pay is ok.. and not sure what else

    Cons

Very High call volume - you MUST sell. Very repetitive day, nothing exciting or challenging but to feel pressured to sell something that you just sometimes can’t. 30 minute lunches, not enough time to eat also not enough time to take a break from the calls you deal with. Rude members due to poor online banking and always being told that somebody would follow up with them when nobody ever does and you get the call and deal with the after math that had nothing to do with you.

I have been working at Alliant Credit Union full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    People are nice, good benefits,

    Cons

OPS leadership is in dire need of a reorg , time to break up the boys club. Leadership skills are non existing in this department. I would stay away!!!!!!!!! no work life balance for a small little company. Dont be fooled from reviews on this company, they encourage there employees to write good reviews on this site along with company surveys on management.

    Advice to Management

Start hiring qualified leaders that can run an IT department. Time for the CEO to get his head out of the sand.

I have been working at Alliant Credit Union full-time

    Pros

This company values your input. They are friendly and encouraging. Everything, from the interview process to the first couple months on site, has the employee’s perspective in the forefront of their mind. With engaged employees focused on their strengths, the members gain.

    Cons

The technology used for a digitally focused experience can be improved upon. I believe the company is working hard to smooth out the bugs in applications.
