I worked at Allianz Insurance full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Bonus and benefits fairly standard. Not much more to say as this was the worst work experience of my 25+ year career.

    Cons

Zero technology. No underwriting support staff.. a few heavily overworked policy issuers at a remote location. Thug management all well known to each other and self protecting ( some poorly educated ). See Fireman's Fund reviews for similar comments re AGCS. Not trustworthy..be careful what you share with whom especially your manager. Marketing department is 100% waste foisted on the backs of production underwriters.

    Advice to Management

Retire. You are the biggest problem. If you were real leaders you wouldn't have had to pad your ranks with cronies. Germany is probably still unaware.

I worked at Allianz Insurance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None, Horrid, childish and very nasty people. Toxic environment.

    Cons

Liars - I don't like to use this word but its true.

Management and staff were sneaky, deceptive and all out for themselves.

Issues within the team(s) came to light and it was all covered up. Very self -indulgence and narcissistic attitudes and behaviors.

Mountains out of molehills and extreme bullying.

    High workload with minimal support.

Many covert narcissists - watch out!

No support between teams unless they feel like being nice.

    Advice to Management

Get HR involved to sort out the mess.

I have been working at Allianz Insurance full-time

    Pros

    - Allianz Plc is part of an international company (Allianz SE)
    - Underwriting placement you can be lucky and placed in a good / knowledgeable team
    - competitive salary

    Cons

    Working environment:
not necessarily living what they are preaching.
    - Allianz's UK entity predominantly lacks diversity & convincing appreciation for a diverse talent pool / true understanding of benefits for workplace, often rather "overwhelmed" with diversity. All sorts of diversities sometimes rather perceived as handicap and person needs to be included.
    - though "German & other language skills beneficial when applying", frankly never needed.
    - innovations rather top down; staff not markedly open-minded for change.
    - digitalisation: heavy & older hardware / softwares slow & don't run smoothly.
    - many teams with high staff turnover.
    - When travelling to other branches etc. due to cost savings, lunch / coffees etc not necessarily refunded, which is below market standard.

    Graduate / Trainee Programme:
    - ACII diploma - company pays for this, as management trainee however diploma only truly relevant when you plan to work in claims or underwriting. Be careful (!) : Company tries to bind you by threatening you when leaving earlier the company before completion of programme you have to pay back loads of money. They have no mercy, and pressure you to sign up right on day one. Saw several trainees leaving earlier, and got the "bill" from a "bitter" company.
    - You can be lucky with placements, but most likely you will go through some placements where you are considered as cheap workforce just filling employee resource gaps.
    - Here and there you might cross paths with managers having employee responsibility, operating in a more process driven approach, not strong in social competence. Here much pro activity from you required to stand up for your personal and professional development and not only filling a gap temporary.
    - Placements in Brentford (London) different to a few other locations, not awarded with a living allowance, though in London! With a moderate trainee salary a bit more difficult to finance living than elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

    - Encourage employees to undergo secondments in other Allianz entities, and support them if doing so.
    - Extend the trainee programmes, work closely with other Allianz entities, offer trainees to go abroad to spend one placement in another entity.
    - two way of feedback: let employees also provide feedback on their managers concretely, not just generically through an annual survey.
    - Focus more on making employees feel appreciated and valued at work, and not just being a resource easily to replace. Train managers to notice their work, and recognise how the single employee adds real value to the company.
    - Initiate honest dialogue among employees across departments on varied business changes / new implementations, e.g. evenings of discussion, etc.
    - Make clear how Allianz Insurance plc is part of an international group, communicate more successes and innovations of the group. Identify and build purpose behind the single entity, put it in a broader context.
    - Strengthen corporate identity.
