I worked at Allianz Insurance full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Bonus and benefits fairly standard. Not much more to say as this was the worst work experience of my 25+ year career.

    Cons

Zero technology. No underwriting support staff.. a few heavily overworked policy issuers at a remote location. Thug management all well known to each other and self protecting ( some poorly educated ). See Fireman's Fund reviews for similar comments re AGCS. Not trustworthy..be careful what you share with whom especially your manager. Marketing department is 100% waste foisted on the backs of production underwriters.

    Advice to Management

Retire. You are the biggest problem. If you were real leaders you wouldn't have had to pad your ranks with cronies. Germany is probably still unaware.

I worked at Allianz Insurance part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good company benefits. Most staff were agreeable. They put effort into personal development and even arranged a beautiful trip out for staff to get to know the company better and to consider a future there. HR and reception friendly.
Always willing to hear your ideas.
Most management are helpful and friendly. Company invests well in staff events and wellbeing . Generally a nice company

    Cons

You must be adaptable as new intiatives can frequently be implemented.
Must be very efficient when working against clock and must be prepared to take ownership when things seem unclear.
You do not have your own caseload- files are shared by everyone.
Had to work 1 in 4 half day saturdays.

    Advice to Management

    Manage career progression expectations
Try to ensure that all staff fit the friendly buisiness environment.
Please try to manage new products with a view to prevent major loss and leakage.

Genuine development for those that want it

Highly competitive so internal promotions are hard to get and talent does leave to get ahead

    Advice to Management

Don't get lost in the politics, and try not to overlook people who want to progress.

I worked at Allianz Insurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some good colleagues, free car parking.

    Cons

Weak leadership in Birmingham Claims, and agree with other experiences of goal posts regularly and inconsistently changing - I think so that Guildford Head Office are not probing too deeply into performance. 'Senior' leadership seems to manage upwards very well to male colleagues in Guildford, but not so effectively across or down. Interesting to read others notice the lack of management on Fridays too.

    Advice to Management

Senior leaders in Guildford need to stop being fooled. Rather than being flattered by attention / falling for flattery, do what you're meant to do - manage (that'd be a start), and lead (if you can).
