I worked at Allianz Insurance full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Bonus and benefits fairly standard. Not much more to say as this was the worst work experience of my 25+ year career.

    Cons

Zero technology. No underwriting support staff.. a few heavily overworked policy issuers at a remote location. Thug management all well known to each other and self protecting ( some poorly educated ). See Fireman's Fund reviews for similar comments re AGCS. Not trustworthy..be careful what you share with whom especially your manager. Marketing department is 100% waste foisted on the backs of production underwriters.

    Advice to Management

Retire. You are the biggest problem. If you were real leaders you wouldn't have had to pad your ranks with cronies. Germany is probably still unaware.

I worked at Allianz Insurance full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people. Great environment and focused on the company's best asset - its staff

    Cons

Below average pay, company culture seems to be moving away from people focus somewhat.
Most opportunities given to the elite/chosen few

    Advice to Management

Empower the experts, listen to them and trust them. Focus again on being a great place to work and people will be more productive. Improve poor performance management.

    Pros

Allianz is a lovely company with great benefits for yourself, family and friends!! Management are all friendly and no question is too much.

    Cons

You are in a very fast paced working environment so if you are not used to this along with job pressures this is a company for you.

I worked at Allianz Insurance full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Competitive salary and benefits.
Great co-workers (on the coal face). Flexible and diverse.

    Cons

Honestly don't know where to start.

Communication is pretty much non existent, unless you like emails. Blind leading the blind!

Leadership are bullied by seniors and micromanage, by throwing stats about; which are inaccurate as they change strategy every day. And no, that isn't a joke. Absolutely no consistency whatsoever.

No senior leadership on Fridays, which might be fine, but the place is full of passer by employees, so the hardworkers pick up the 'flack'.

Knee jerk reaction with most decisions, but because the stats look okay, the seniors don't realise just how depressing it is working there.

    Real shame.

    Advice to Management

Please invest in NEW blood and inject some strong male leadership into senior management, as there are only 5 senior management leaders in Birmingham, and all but one manage in an old fashioned and unethical ways. They're all female, middle aged and no energy. Weak leadership.

Staff are very unhappy and it's because leadership bury their heads in the sand trying to produce stats, rather than seeing the 'bigger picture' and doing things the right way.

    Pros

Training is often advertised and provided to employees. A lot of workshops provided to steer you and your career in the direction that is right for you.

    Cons

Structure of business needs to update rapidly to be able to capitalise on successfully acquiring more of the market from competitors
