    Pros

Great company for training, pay, conditions and promotional prospects if you work hard and show commitment.

    Cons

They expect to get their moneys worth when the chips are down. Expect to have to work extra hours to meet the dynamic needs of the business.

    Advice to Management

Slow down change and allow the staff to absorb/process the last big thing before introducing more new initiatives.

    Pros

driver u can work up to 12 hours , but some shifts could be less, all rout is well planned and u will be trained where u have to go , and you could take home 2.000 -2.100 £ per month

    Cons

just by eating a pice of cooky i was dismiss as gross misconduct " allegation of theft ofcompany property the form of eatingcookies that were part of my delivery "
you got 7 week shift and not even one day same off or working , is very hard to plan your life whit family , plus start at 2:00 am or 3:00 am , NO bank holidays off at all , not paid extra for sunday or bank holidays etc etc

I have been working at Allied Bakeries full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It's a secure job due to the site recently receiving investment.
The pension is good for current employees-also the sick pay is better than most should you need it.
( 3 weeks full sick pay per year)

There are tough days but in truth there are easier days - the workload peaks and troughs due to the nature of the business so flexibility is required.

Should you get the opportunity to have your own route there's an opportunity to create a good rapport with customers which makes the job so much easier.

    Cons

The job is demanding due to the unsociable hours & the physical nature of the work -driver/ labourer.

The number of agency drivers almost outweighs the permanent allied bakeries drivers which doesn't help with team spirit amongst the management & driver group.

    Advice to Management

Allied Bakeries is an ethical company but unfortunately (some not all ) of the management team need to remember this.

Also Flexibility is often requested from drivers but strangely rarely demonstrated by the management team.

To sum up the management are a mixed bag but they could be so much better with the right guidance.
